Kunderová, Markéta January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a sustainable urban structure of the 21st century based on a medieval town in Náměšť nad Oslavou in the Vysočina region. It is a relatively large location defined by a zoning plan for the future development of the town. The area is specific because it is located entirely on the northern slope and is directly adjacent to the railway track, which is a physical as well as noise barrier for potential construction. The aim of the thesis is to design a solution that uses the potential of the place, offers a modern and economical way of living and creates appropriate public spaces based on medieval towns. The intention is to connect the new location with the existing structure of the town and thus prevent it from becoming the city periphery.

Návrh sídelní struktury soudobého města v historickém kontextu. / Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.

Suchanek, Tomáš January 2021 (has links)
The topic of this master‘s thesis was to create a settlement structure on the territory of the cadastral territory of the town of Náměšť nad Oslavou. Specifically in the southwestern part of the town, in the places of today's agricultural areas. The main goal of the thesis is to create a quality residential structure for the entire area, which will connect to the surrounding development, to create a center with urban amenities for this newly designed neighborhood. A key aspect of the design is the transport connection to the existing road network of the city and overcoming the barrier formed by the railway line. The proposed development responds to the current and future anticipated needs of the city. Taking into account the size, the proposed area is divided into three parts with regard to the time sequence and the nature of the development. From an urban point of view, the first phase builds on the existing network of streets and creates a transition between the original and the proposed development and proposes transport connections to the area. In the second and third phase, the remaining area of the proposed area is resolved, by a system of regular streets designed in places with a small slope of the terrain, connected by short streets with a higher slope. The master‘s thesis addresses the connection between the city and greenery, increases the attractiveness of the area by designing public facilities and services and works with visual axes from the existing housing and commercial development to the proposed location.

Červinková, Šárka January 2015 (has links)
A city hall BRNO – North – dissertation 2015 A public building with the main function for the city hall for city part Brno – North. The building is extended with a representative hall which is also used for the culture and sociable events. Furthermore, this building includes a ceremonial hall, a cafe and a lecture room. A designed building of the city hall is situated in the centre position in a designed building. A close connection with Provaznikova street provides a connection to a current building a good accessibility for pedestrians and also for cars. At first was built the city hall, neverthless during following steps it would fit in the designed building. A position „centre“ and it´s own importance of the city hall allows to create a new strong binding with a current territory since it´s beggining. The public building and a public open space fill in this territory with an active life in a public space. A material solution of the city building reacts on a current and a future urban context. The traffic connection continues with a current communication. An entrances into the building are from Provaznikova street and a suggested square. An entrace to underground garages are on right side from a main entrance in a new designed street. A concept of the city hall includes two materials connected by communication hall which closes a public area of the square. Materials in a ground plan creates almost letter U. A combination of offices, servises for citizens, a multifunctional hall, a ceremonial hall and a cafe offer an optimal contain for a current and aslo for a future city hall. The height of building is moderate and isn´t higher than a designed or sorrounded buildings. A criterion of the building shows a kindness to people going by and also an honour to it´s meaning. A significant architectonic point of the city hall is a rotating arcade created by colonnade in an axial distance 2m and height 6,5m. This point itself contributes to an extraordinariness of this building and refers to Greek archatype. A regularity, a rast and a tectonics in all building is based on a constructive module which influenced an inner layout structure. A strenght and a stability is impared by a facade from a classical obverse masonry which has two visual solutions for an administrativelly – authoritilly part and more decorated for a part with a hall and a hall. A transparency of developments which is connected with a phylosophy of the city hall is shown in a glass entrance hall, furthermore in a solutions of corridors and offices and all kinds of boardrooms. Model střídá model - Transformace Baťova průmyslového města Batanagar v Indii / Model Replaces Model – Transformation of Baťa’s Industrial Town Batanagar in India

Březovská, Markéta Unknown Date (has links)
This thesis aims to contribute new knowledge to the debate on corporate urbanism. Generally, it seeks to identify the process and implications of globalization tendencies on the development of industrial and postindustrial cities while exploring the aspects that this specific production of space entails. Specifically it studies the case of the Baťa shoe company, whose model of an „ideal industrial town“, its production and export, has been one of the first examples of enforcement/implementation of corporate urbanism on a global scale. The 1930s model of the Indian enterprise city, Batanagar, is since 2006 being replaced by a new one: the model of a city-venture, in which the actual production of shoes is strictly separated from the new production of lifestyle. This model can today be found on the outskirts of large cities throughout the world, and especially in countries of the global south, where it clearly reflects the socio-economic transformation of the whole society, from a production driven, to a consumption driven society.

Univerzita v městském prostoru: Univerzita Karlova a Universität Wien / University in the City Space: Charles University and University of Vienna

Kavan, Ondřej January 2018 (has links)
This thesis is a comparative case study that employs the disciplines and subjects of urban studies, history of universities and city planning. It presents and compares the history of the built environment of the Charles University Prague and the University of Vienna from their very beginning until present days. Main subject of the study therefore is the (spatial) city- university relationship and the position of the respective university in it. How many areas does the university use? What are these like? What are the distances between each of them and what is the distance to the attractive downtown? What are the respective historical contexts of all the development plans, which of them became reality and which not? These research questions are answered in the comparative analysis of the two universities. A second subject of the paper is the analysis of the agility of the universities who are facing some global development trends of the university strategic planning and have to deal with them both now and in the future. Do the development plans of the university support the interdisciplinary cooperation, globally competitive science or it's own position in the host city in order to support own attractiveness and efficiency? All these questions are discussed and answered.
