This thesis is focused on choral traditions in the city of Karlovy Vary. It maps music and social life in the city from the 19th century to the present, including some of the major personalities in music. It also concentrates on all the important choir bodies that were or still are active and which were important for the cultural life of the city. Emphasis is placed primarily on the Karlovy Vary Choir, the longest-performing choir in the city, including all choirmasters who participated in the running and artistic leadership of the choir. Memories of the oldest members of the choir, emeritus or still active, are also incorporated. At the end of the thesis, the repertoire of the choir and the pictorial attachment are presented.

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the offer of cultural tourism in Karlovy Vary. The thesis tries to prove the importance and significance of cultural tourism in tourism in Karlovy Vary through the available theories of cultural product and through the offers in tourism and tourist industry. The practical part of the thesis contains analysis using the theory of distribution of cultural tourism according to GR and the theory of expert interviews. The analysis finally evaluates the offer of cultural tourism, describes its negative and positive aspects and recommendations for the future.

The subject of this dissertation is an analysis of the newspaper Karlovy Vary National newspapers from its inception, until its post-war closure. In each charter. Part of the work is an analysis of another two local titles - the weekly papers - Budovatel and Jednota. In the dissertation. I also examine to Czech-German relations and the beginning of the Czechs and Germans co-existing in the region, from a time around end of the 12th century, and until the beginning of the Second World War and post-war organization of a city Karlovy Vary.

This analysis includes the comparison of the present level of transport services with the situation in the region five years ago and assess contingent changes. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the status of Carlsbad and its specifics on the market of spa services in Czech Republic. The analysis is focused on entities that currently operate in the field of spa services in Carlsbad. The outcome of this work is to assess the current state of spas in Karlovy Vary, analysis of the different types of entities that deal with spa services and evaluation of their common and diferent features. This thesis also deals with evaluation of the impact of changes in the Indication list on the spa services in Karlovy Vary.

The topic of this diploma thesis is the Settlement of Karlovy Vary after the expulsion of the Germans. The work examines the period after the Second World War, when the German population was expelled in Czechoslovakia and subsequently settled by new inhabitants. The first part of the thesis examines the post-war situation and problems related to the settlement of the Czechoslovak border. Emphasis is placed on agricultural and industrial settlement with issued decrees. The second part of this thesis is devoted to the settlement of Karlovy Vary, which, despite all efforts, had serious problems with the lack of people interested in resettlement. The arrival of re-emigrants and minorities from foreign or neighboring states with Czechoslovakia is closely related to this issue, so this thesis will also address this topic.

The diploma thesis deals with church bells as specific instruments of liturgy and lived faith on the example of today's Karlovy Vary Region, respectively historical regions Loketsko and Chebsko. Part of the text will focus on individual families who were engaged in casting bells. Emphasis is placed on the social and economic status of these families, their social mobility and the level of production in different epochs. These topics are traced from the early Middle Ages to the period of requisitions of bell funds during the world wars. At the same time, the work will attempt the first comprehensive mapping of historical bell collections in today's Karlovy Vary Region and give an explanation of the use of bells in church practice, taking into account the regional specifics of the culture of Egerland. Thanks to the connection to Germany and the important position of Cheb and Loket, there have been many bell-making manufacturers since the Middle Ages. In the early modern period, together with the development of mining activities in the Slavkov Forest and in the Ore Mountains, the prestige of the bell-making craft increased. 1 Abstract Title: Comparison of interest in sports activities between high school students in Prague and in Karlovy Vary region Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find and compare the interest in sport between two groups - high school students in Prague and Karlovy Vary region. Furthermore, the aim is also to find out the reason why students do sport or why students have even no interest in sport. Another objective is to find and compare the way how students in both regions spend their leisure time. Lastly, sports conditions were verified in both regions. Methods: Interest in sports activities has been investigated by using a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was specially created for this research. Results: Research has shown that the level of sport activity is higher by students from Karlovy Vary region than by students from Prague. Although the conditions for sports activities are worse in Karlovy Vary region than in Prague, students do sport more often and doing sport is more popular in comparison with other leisure time activities. Master's thesis focuses on a role of regional councillors in process of regional development at the case of Karlovy Vary region. The aim of the thesis is to determine how the process of regional development is influenced by the stability of regional elites in terms of their territorial distribution in the region and their time stability in the subsequent regional elections. The thesis is based on theoretical background related to regional development with emphasis of soft factors of development in context of institutional approaches. The important part of the thesis represents analysis of inner differentiation of the model area and explanation of its causes. The original research consists of two parts. The outcome of the first part is an extensive database of candidates elected into regional assemblies of the Czech Republic in periods of 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012; and analysis of changes in membership structure of those regional assemblies. In the second part regional identity, attitudes and motivation of current regional councillors of Karlovy Vary region and their influence on the development of the region were examined by a questionnaire.
