Analytical Modeling of Wood Frame Shear Walls Subjected to Vertical Load

A nonlinear automated parameter fitted analytical model that numerically predicts the load-displacement response of wood frame shear walls subjected to static monotonic loading with and without vertical load is presented. This analytical model referred to as Analytical Model of wood frame SHEar walls subjected to Vertical load (AMSHEV) is based on the kinematic behavior of wood frame shear walls and captures significant characteristics observed from experimental testing through appropriate modeling of three failure mechanisms that can occur within a shear wall under static monotonic load: 1) failure of sheathing-to-framing connectors, 2) failure of vertical studs, and 3) uplift of end studs from bottom sill. Previous models have not accounted for these failure mechanisms as well as the inclusion of vertical load, which has shown to reveal beneficial effects such as increasing the ultimate load capacity and limiting uplift of the wall as noted in experimental tests. Results from the proposed numerical model capture these effects within 7% error of experimental test data even when different magnitudes of vertical load are applied to predict the ultimate load capacity of wood frame shear walls.

Padangų riedėjimo pasipriešinimo lauko sąlygomis tyrimas / Investigation of tire resistance with soil on field conditions

Magistrantūros studijų baigiamajame darbe pateikiami padangų riedėjimo pasipriešinimo, lauko sąlygomis, tyrimo duomenys, esant skirtingiems atraminio paviršiaus tipams (pieva, ražiena, sausas žvyrkelis), įvairioms padangų vertikalioms apkrovoms (nuo 1,4 kN iki 5,9 kN) bei skirtingiems oro slėgiams padangoje (nuo 0,5 bar iki 2,0 bar). Darbo objektas – padangos riedėjimo pasipriešinimo koeficientas, jo reikšmės kitimas, esant skirtingiems padangos, apkrovos, ir atraminio paviršiaus parametrams. Tyrimas atliktas naudojant BELCHINA 7.50L – 16 ФБел – 253 padangą. Darbo metodai: padangos tyrimams atlikti buvo suprojektuotas ir pagamintas mobilus stendas, kuris buvo tvirtinamas prie savaeigės važiuoklės T–16M. Darbo rezultatai. Oro slėgis padangoje ir vertikalios apkrovos dydis turėjo įtakos riedėjimo pasipriešinimo koeficiento reikšmių kaitai, esant skirtingiems atraminiams paviršiams (pievoje, ražienoje, sausame žvyrkelyje). Mažinant padangos slėgį riedėjimo pasipriešinimo jėga yra tiesiogiai proporcinga vertikalios apkrovos jėgai ir atvirkščiai proporcinga slėgiui padangoje. Pievoje mažiausia riedėjimo pasipriešinimo jėgos Fp reikšmė gauta esant 1,0 bar slėgiui ir padangą apkrovus 1,4 kN vertikalia apkrova (Fp = 14,375 kN). Ražienoje – esant 0,5 bar slėgiui padangoje, ir 1,4 kN vertikaliai apkrovai (Fp = 22,283 kN). [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The Master’s thesis presents findings of the study of tire rolling resistance under field conditions with different types of support surfaces (grassland, stubble, dry gravel-road), different vertical loads of tires (from 1.4 kN to 5.9 kN) and different air pressures in a tire (from 0.5 bar to 2.0 bar). Object of the thesis – tire rolling resistance coefficient f, change of its values with different parameters of a tire, load and support surface. The study was carried out using the tire BELCHINA 7.50L – 16 ФБел – 253. Methods of the thesis: in order to carry out the tire study, mobile stand was designed and manufactured and attached to self-propelled chassis T – 16M. Results of the thesis. Air pressure in the tire and the value of vertical load influenced the change of rolling resistance coefficient with different support surfaces (grassland, stubble, dry gravel-road). At the tire pressure being decreased, the rolling resistance force was directly proportional to the force of vertical load and is inversely proportional to pressure in the tire. The lowest value of rolling resistance force Fp on grassland was obtained at the pressure of 1,0 bar and vertical load of 1,4 kN on the tire (Fp = 14,375 kN). The subject of this master’s thesis is elaboration of project documentation for a multi-functional building according to the actual standards and norms given by law. The object has four floor above the ground and one floor partly below ground level with nine flats and two commercial premises. Residential part and commercial premises are separated from each other operationally independent and accessible main entrances. The basisc are made from contrete strips. The house is made by a brick technology of a ceramic blocks. The external walls are insulated with certified contact thermal insulation system. The building is roofed with warm flat roof.

Bytový dům, Brno - Židenice / Apartment house, Brno - Židenice

Within the frame of my master's thesis I processed a project documentation for a construction of an apartment house in Brno – Židenice. The building is unattached and has 7 floors. On the ground floor there are four individual garages, cellar cubicles and a utility room. There are apartments on all other floors. On the highest floor, there is situated a singular apartment with outdoor terrace and vegetation area. The building is founded on strips made of reinforced concrete, vertical load-bearing structure is made of cermic blocks, floor structure is made of hollow core slabs and staircase is also made of prefabricated elements. The house is insulated with contact thermal insulation made of mineral wool. During the process of creating the projet, I followed all the requirements of actual regulations and legal enactments, to provide sufficient mechanical endurance and stability, health safety of the inner space as well as safety of the natural environment.

This diploma thesis deals with the preparation of the implementation of multifunctional buildings in Bratislava. These are three detached multi-storey apartment buildings connected by a joint basement. The diploma thesis includes a technical report to the construction technological project, a study of the implementation of main technological phases, solving of broader relations of transport routes with the design of supply routes, a time schedule and a financial plan of the object, a detailed time plan for the rough substructure and rough superstructure, a building site equipment project, a machine assembly design and its assessment, a technological regulation for monolithic structures, a control plan and test plan for monolithic structures, a specification of the time period of the removal of the formwork of monolithic structures, an occupational safety and health plan and selected points of the LEED certification. It is the tyre that ensures the interaction between a wheel and road surface and it is the the tyre which also acts as a primary cushioning. Its construction, features and condition highly influence driving properties of a car and thus passenger safety as well. In motorsports the tyre is a key part of the vehicle and therefore it is necessary to make use of its complete potential for reaching the best results. The aim of this thesis is a device construction suitable for tyre parameter and their characteristics measurement. The next task is to design a measuring system for tyre pressure and temperature monitoring. With using of these devices a few real-tyre measurements and subsequent result evaluation will be done. The output of the thesis is an overview of construction details, overview of selected tyre parameters, design and drawing documentation of multipurpose measuring device and the results of my measurements.
