Aspekty vizualizace dat v Business Intelligence / Aspects of Data Visualization in Business Intelligence

Pospíšil, David January 2015 (has links)
The thesis's primary focus is the visualization of data in Business Intelligence with broader ramifications because the framework defined here will be useful for making any design layout. It describes the cognitive aspects of perception for visualization and with this understanding the thesis will be able to summarize the rules which are necessary for right and functional design. The goal of design is to provide the information in the most understandable way. The author has surveyed individuals to find out how people are familiar with the rules for designing and the style of visualization that people prefer. The last part of this thesis is focused on the implementation of the findings with the ultimate goal to suggest a new BI reporting system. Being able to list and verify the rules of visualization on the path to implementation is the main benefit of this work.

Zvýšení informační hodnoty dat pomocí moderních přístupů k vizualizaci / Increasing the information value of the data using modern approaches to visualization

Král, Jakub January 2015 (has links)
This thesis solves the area of data visualization in Business Intelligence. We live in a time when the amount of data grows turbulently. These data need to be processed into a form with added value for management and business objectives of the company. The first task is to adjust the data into the required format, the second task is to choose the appropriate visualization so that the data are providing the highest value. This work deals with data visualization and its main aim is to introduce a different approach to data visualization, which has a higher added value than conventional visualization methods used in dashboards and reports. First of all, theoretical part is describing data area (including the trend of Big Data) and reporting (chapter 3). Followed by chapter 4, which is enriching the reader with the information about the need to deal with data visualization and also with the design theory of visualization components. The theoretical part is finished with fifth chapter. It deals with current trends in the field of data visualization and Business Intelligence and also introduces D3.js library as a tool for creating interactive and efficient visualization components. The practical part is offering suggestions for interactive and dynamic visualization of input data (chapter 6). It presents a convenient way to choose a visualization component with greater value than the traditional static component in the form of a graph or table. Proposals contained in D3.js library are presented to the reader. Chosen components according to the author are interesting from the view of design and, if properly used, offer an innovative approach to data visualization. For purposes of practical examples of visualization, author is using D3.js library and open source tool for Business Intelligence from Pentaho. Practical example is part of the final chapter 7.

Podpora vizualizace v self-service Business Intelligence nástrojích - porovnání SAS Visual Analytics a IBM Cognos Analytics / Visualization Support in Sefl-Service Business Intelligence Tools - a SAS Visual Analytics and IBM Cognos Analytics Comparison

Espinoza, Felix January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with problematics of tools marked as Self Service Business Intelligence (SSBI) which is paid close attention by its users as well as producers due to expected progressive growth of this trend. Two products are evaluated: SAS Visual Analytics and IBM Cognos Analytics, both tools are evaluated by their extent of user´s autonomy and support of data visualization. Basic principles and concepts connected to the area of business intelligence are defined in theoretical part of the thesis. The problematics of data visualization is introduced and trend of self-service business intelligence is discussed with analyzing its benefits as well as restrictions. Technological factors which helped to fast development of SSBI are mentioned as well. A methodology has been created within practical part of the thesis. It is enforceable for any other tool from the family of SSBI and it is possible to assess the extent of support within observed categories through this methodology: Using information, Creation of information, Creation of sources and Visualization. A set of criteria on basis of which the evaluator can create evaluation form corresponding to his/her needs was defined for each of the stated categories. Usability of the methodology is illustratively demonstrated at mutual comparison of chosen modules of both tools while those parts are sufficiently described before the evaluation itself.

Vizualizace technických a business metadat / Visualization of technical and business metadata

Beránek, Lukáš January 2011 (has links)
This master's degree thesis focuses on the issues of visualization formerly preprocessed business and technical metadata in a business environment. Within the process of elabora-tion and usage of the collected data in the company, it is necessary to present the data to the users in a comfortable, comprehensible and clear way. The first goal of this thesis is to describe and to specify the term of metadata in the field of theory and on the level of busi-ness, their main structure, their occurrence in a non-visual manner and related places where we can find metadata in the heterogeneous business environment. This part also includes a short introduction to the usage of metadata that is related and originates from business in-telligence and a description of Company encyclopedia that can syndicate these resources for further utilization. When defined, the sources, destinations and purpose of technical and business metadata can be used in the second part of the thesis -- this part is aimed at model-ing the use cases for the visual component that can be applied to business and technical metadata. Use cases will be focused on the roles of the users that will use this component and to discover the primary demands and requirements of these users and the functionality that will be indispensable. After the use cases are defined we can process to the next stage of visual component development -- the data must be visualized itself and we have to find proper means to achieve this with user experience being the main focus. Then we have to encapsulate the visualization with a graphical user interface that will meet the requirements and demands of the users' roles specified by the use cases section by prototyping. Lastly, the results of the previous chapters are used to prototype the visual component suitable for a web environment which is based on principles of reusability, data-driven approach, and uses modern web technologies such as framework and library D3.js, HTML5, CSS3, and SVG.

Experimentální studium proudění tekutého helia / Experimental investigations of liquid helium flows

Švančara, Patrik January 2021 (has links)
Experimental investigations of liquid helium flows Selected turbulent flows of He II, the superfluid phase of liquid 4 He, are inves- tigated experimentally. The second sound attenuation technique is employed to directly probe the tangle of quantized vortices, thin topological defects within the superfluid, while relatively small particles made of solid hydrogen are dispersed in He II to visualize the overall flow of the liquid via the particle tracking ve- locimetry. Considering the known particle-vortex interaction mechanisms, steady thermal counterflow in a square channel is investigated. Significant inhomogene- ity of the vortex tangle density along the channel height (near the flow-generating heater) is shown to develop. The means of energy transport in turbulent flows of He II are found strikingly different from those taking place in turbulent flows of viscous fluids. Moreover, individual particles in counterflow are observed to intermittently switch between two distinct motion regimes along their trajecto- ries. The regimes are identified and qualitatively described. Steady counterflow jets in He II are realized and the spatial arrangement of the underlying vortex tangle is explored. Finally, macroscopic vortex rings are thermally generated and observed in He II. A method for tracking their...
