Změny některých fyzikálních vlastností vodné suspenze korundového prášku v průběhu ultrajemného mletí / Changes in some physical properties of the aqueous suspension of corundum powder during ultrafine grindingŠuleková, Nikola January 2018 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the study of changes in properties of the aqueous suspensions of corundum during ultrafine grinding without and with the addition of grinding activator. Such studies are an important step in optimizing the grinding process properly, because by measuring physical properties of a particulate substance, it is easy to determine the actual fineness of the ground substance and its quality for further processing. For the measurement of granulometry, zeta potential, rheological behavior and turbidity, corundum suspensions in distilled water were prepared in a 1:5 ratio without the addition of grinding activator and with the addition of triethanolamine (TEA), by using a planetary mill. The suspensions showed pseudoplastic behavior and the zeta potential of all samples ranged between -30 and 30 mV, thus the suspensions were rather unstable. During the grinding, the viscosity and turbidity of the samples increased. TEA was not proved to be a suitable activator for wet milling of corundum because of higher degree of fineness achieved during milling without an activator.

Barierové vrstvy na bázi polyparaxylylenu a jejich vlastnosti / Barier films based on polyparaxylylene and their propertiesHorák, Jakub January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on preparation and characterization of parylene C barrier properties. The layers were prepared by chemical vapour deposition (CVD). The interest in characterization of those layers is huge mainly because of their possible use in museology for the protection of the museum archives against the corrosion. Chlorinated dimer of para-xylylene was used as a precursor. Polypropylene foils, metal sheets and silica wafers were used as tested substrates for thin film preparation. Polypropylene foils were used for oxygen transmission rate measurements, metal sheets were used for corrosion tests and silica wafers were used for Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and stylus profilometry.

The endless possibilies of glass are inspiring. It has the ability to not only reflect, but its unbelievably sharp and crisp potential to shape and define a room from bare abandonment to pure visionare of endless value. Some of the topics and themes I seek to define and discuss through my work are as follows: What is the ability of a mere (2m x 3x) piece of glass to transform and affect the human experience? How much does its shape and placement interact with elements of the technical space, with the footprints that shape its surroundings? How does the tampering with said glass (for example, discoloration and lighting) react and influence an otherwise abandoned and unnoticed factory setting? What areits technical abilities and limitations? My conclusive research and experimentation through my thesis has led me to show the durability and strength of an otherwise breakable medium. My work has exposed the pressures and challenges that affect the dimensions in which glass can be found, from three specific angles. Not only has the quality of glass been put to the test, but its lifespan as a whole in a variety of difficult circumstances. Through this exporative installation of glass and its role of interaction, my primary goal is to analyze and expose the quality of the material. The otherwise ephemeral nature of glass as a barrier or as a second-rate mirror can be seemingly eternalized for an effective moment in time. This exploration will transform my process into afinal product, thus organizing the accidental chaos of its very specific potential.

Magnetické nanočástice a nanokompozitní materiály se spinelovou strukturou, jejich příprava a charakterizace / Magnetic nanoparticles and nanocomposites with spinel structure, their preparation and characterizationHolec, Petr January 2012 (has links)
This work presents the preparation and physical properties of spinel nanoparticles and nanocomposites. All nanocomposites in diamagnetic matrix like chromites CoCr2O4, CuCr2O4, NiCr2O4, ZnCr2O4 and ferrite MgFe2O4 were prepared using sol-gel method. On the other hand, isolated nanoparticles such as MgCr2O4, MnCr2O4, CuCr2O4, NiCr2O4, and FeCr2O4, were prepared using autocombustion a co-precipitation methods. CoFe2O4 and MgFe2O4 were prepared by microemulsion alkoxide method. This microemulsion method was used for the spinel nanoparticles preparation for the first time. This work describes the influence of heat treatment temperature on the final particle size and influence of particle size on physical properties of material. The study of the influence of twovalent cationt in the spinel structure on the magnetic properties of chromites was also carried out. The final samples were characterized by XRD powder diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, and HRTEM. The dependence of magnetization on applied magnetic field at constant temperature and ZFC (zero-field cooling) - FC (field cooling) measurement was carried out on the prepared sample.

Studium nových slitin na bázi Mg s řízenou mikrostrukturou a texturou / Study of novel magnesium alloys with controlled microstructure and textureDrozdenko, Daria January 2016 (has links)
Title: Study of novel magnesium alloys with controlled microstructure and texture Author: Daria Drozdenko Department / Institute: Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Supervisor of the doctoral thesis: Ing. Patrik Dobroň, Ph.D., Department of Physics of Materials. Abstract: The work elucidates the role of dislocation slip and twinning during plastic deformation in selected magnesium (Mg) alloys with controlled microstructure and texture. The acoustic emission (AE) technique was concurrently applied during deformation to determine the activity of particular deformation mechanisms. A detailed insight into microstructure was provided by electron microscopy. In order to obtain a comprehensive set of AE data for particular deformation mechanisms, Mg single crystals with various crystallographic orientations were channel-die and uniaxially compressed. The obtained results were applied on deformation mechanisms in polycrystalline textured Mg alloys. Particularly, the twinning - detwinning processes, in the sense of twin boundary mobility, during one cycle loading (pre-compression followed by tension) were described. Clear correlations between changes in the AE response and the inflection points on the deformation curve were found. An analysis of twin...
