O processo de tomada de decisão em ambientes de negócios web, descritos por tarefas sequenciais e/ou paralelas, envolve selecionar fornecedores de forma ótima dentre um conjunto potencial de provedores de serviços. Características dos serviços como custo, duração de execução, confiabilidade, disponibilidade e reputação são tratadas como múltiplos objetivos a atingir. Inicialmente, a escolha de provedores é feita por Otimização Multi-Objetivo Inteira-Mista, mais especificamente por meio de um modelo de Programação Alvo. Em seguida, o problema de programação de serviços passa a ser tratado no contexto da Teoria dos Jogos, como um jogo envolvendo provedores que buscam maximizar suas utilidades. Diferentes hipóteses sobre a interação entre provedores dão origem a diferentes noções de equilíbrio: Equilíbrio de Nash, Equilíbrio Correlacionado e Equilíbrio de Bayes-Nash. Finalmente, o problema de programação de serviços é modelado como um problema de Leilão de Segundo Preço, o Mecanismo de Leilão Vickrey-Clark-Grooves. A tese inclui exemplos numéricos ilustrativos para todos os modelos propostos / Abstract: The web services scheduling problem is considered. The decision making process in web-based business environments, described by sequential and/or parallel tasks, involves the optimal selection of suppliers over a set of potential service providers. Characteristics as cost, execution duration, reliability, availability and reputation are treated as multiple objectives to be reached. Initially, the selection of suppliers is performed by Mixed-Integer Multi-Objective Optimization, more specifically, by means of a Goal Programming model. Subsequently, the web services scheduling problem is handled in the Game Theory framework, as a game played by suppliers who aim at maximizing their own utilities. Different hypothesis about the interaction between the suppliers give rise to different equilibrium solutions: Nash Equilibrium, Correlated Equilibrium and Bayes-Nash Equilibrium. Finally, the web services scheduling problem is modeled as a Second Price Auction, the Vickrey-Clark-Grooves Auction Mechnism. Esta dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo avaliar a integração de políticas de tolerância a falhas em uma arquitetura de Web Services com múltiplos módulos. A arquitetura utilizada é denominada WSARCH, e foi desenvolvida para o estudo das relações e interoperabilidade entre serviçcos. Os mecanismos de tolerência a falhas foram integrados aos módulos da arquitetura, testados, comparados e avaliados. A avaliação de desempenho mostrou que os mecanismos de tolerância a falhas introduzidos foram eficientes e apresentaram resultados adequados. As técnicas de reputação utilizadas na seleção de serviço atuaram satisfatoriamente e foram consideradas um importante avanço nos mecanismos da arquitetura / This master\'s thesis aims to evaluate the integration of fault tolerance mechanisms in a Web Services architecture with multiple modules. The architecture used is named WSARCH and was developed for the study of interactions and interoperability of services. WSARCH is an architecture conceived to receive tests and experiments involving concepts of Web Services. The fault tolerance tools were integrated in the architecture, tested, evaluated and comparated. The performance evaluation showed that the fault tolerance mechanisms introduced were ecient and presented appropriate results. The reputation techniques utilized in service selection operated successfully and were considered an important advance in the mechanisms of the architecture

A Computação Ubíqua está revolucionando a interação do ser-humano com os dispositivos computacionais ao disponibilizar tecnologias pouco intrusivas ao cotidiano das pessoas. A Computação Ciente de Contexto, um dos temas de pesquisa em Computação Ubíqua, tem contribuído para a construção de aplicações capazes de customizar-se e adaptar-se às necessidades do usuário sem a intervenção explícita deste. Suportar o desenvolvimento de aplicações Cientes de Contexto é um dos desafios da Computação Ubíqua. Desenvolvido no mesmo grupo de pesquisa que este trabalho está inserido, o Serviço Web Context Kernel, gerencia informações de contexto e explora as especificações e tecnologias da Web como plataforma de intercâmbio para a informação contextual. O trabalho aqui reportado teve como objetivo investigar a utilização de Serviços Web por meio do emprego da infra-estrutura Context Kernel na integração de aplicações em cenários de trabalho colaborativo e de aprendizado eletrônico. Como resultado, foi elaborado um conjunto de lições aprendidas provenientes do estudo e do emprego das especificações para Serviços Web. Outros resultados foram: as especificações de informações de contexto de grupo e de metadados educacionais em dimensões de contexto e exemplos de utilização do Context Kernel para tornar aplicações cientes de contexto. / Ubiquitous computing has became a revolution in terms of the user-computer interaction by providing technologies that seamlessly integrate themselves to people?s everyday life. Context-aware computing, which is an important research theme in ubiquitous computing, has been contributing for the building of applications that are capable both to customize and adapt themselves aiming to support a user without disturb him. A great challenge in ubiquitous computing has been the support to build context-aware aplications. For that reason, the it has been developed the Context Kernel Web Service, which is a service infrastructure that makes use of Web-based specifications and technologies in order to promote the management and the interchange of context information. In this work the usage of Web Services was analyzed by using the Context Kernel to integrate applications in scenarios of cooperative work and e-learning. As a result, a list of lessons learned was ellaborated with respect to the use and the study of Web Services specifications for context-aware computing. Other results include a context information specifications for metadata about group and educational resources as well as examples of how to use the Context Kernel to leverage applications context-aware.

This master's thesis deals with a company information system called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which is supplied by the SAP. First, the thesis surveys historical development in the area of ERP. Next, it studies a current SAP ERP product which is based on a new SAP NetWeaver technological platform. The thesis focuses on the possibilities of company-processes integration into SAP NetWeaver Portal environment and it introduces certain examples for exploiting its potential in practise.

The main aim of this diploma´s thesis is the devise and the implementation of the extension of information system for mobile phones. The target is to make it easy to get the needed information even when the user is not present in the company and make recieving and working with information effective. In the first part there are described methods and processes which form the theoretical part of this thesis. The second part is related to the analysis of the current state of this company. This part is the basis for the third part which is the real devise for a new solution.

Tato práce se zabývá zbůsoby, jimiž je možné získávat data z bioinformatických databází obsahujících data týkajících se interakcí mezi proteiny. Od souvislostí okolo vzniku bioinformatiky sloučením informatiky a biologie tato práce uvede čtenáře do problematiky přístupu k datům týkajících se interakcí mezi proteiny. Tato práce vysvětlí důvody vzniku IMEx konsorcia, jeho cíle a prostředky, kterými svých cílů dosahuje. IMEx konsorcium dalo vzniknout mnoha standardům, které usnadňují přístup k datům členů konsorcia a výměnu těchto dat mezi nimi. Jedním z výtvorů IMEx konsorcia je i webová služba PSICQUIC, která byla navržena s využitím architektonického stylu REST, a která je přístupná i pomocí protokolu SOAP. Obě tyto kategorie přístupů k webových službám jsou v rámci této práce studovány a na základě výsledků výzkumu je implementována aplikace pro získávání interakcí mezi proteiny z databází, jenž jsou členy IMEx konsorcia.

This work concerns with dynamic evolution of applications written in Java. It investigates existing solutions implemented in both Java and other programming languages. Following part analyses complete substitution of object in running application in various situations. A framework for dynamic updating of Java-based applications is designed. The framework is implemented and is used in illustrative application. Finally, achieved results are evaluated and additional possible enhancements are stated.

Almost every company in the world deals with business processes on a daily basis. And business can derive signi cant bene t from taking a formal approach. This means, that the business process is formally described (for example using Business Process Modeling Notation 2.0) and implemented in some Business Process Engine (BPE). The aim of the thesis is to design a general API (BP Orchestration Web Services) that does not depend on BPE for business process monitoring and manipulation. The main problem of current APIs is that they are not uni ed, do not provide enough exibility and are too tied to the one particular BPE. This thesis includes general information about work ow, about BPMN and basic principles of REST architectural style. Based on this knowledge problesms were formally stated and as a solution BP Orchestration Web Services were designed and implemented. Web Services allow to instantiate a process from abstract de nitions, monitor the state of the process and manipulate with the process (including advanced manipulations such as exchanging a sub-process in the running instance for some another compatible sub- process). The RESTful API was designed in a way to minimize the client implementation and restrict client’s knowledge about internal details. As part of the thesis a connector to BonitaBPM was implemented and integration with BonitaBPM was done.

Die Suche nach Publikationen ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit. Eine zunehmende Zahl von Veröffentlichungen wird heutzutage in Digitalen Bibliotheken gesammelt, die über das Internet zugänglich sind. Der Anwender wird jedoch bei ihrer Verwendung mit unterschiedlichen Schnittstellen und Datenformaten konfrontiert. Daneben müssen für eine umfangreiche Recherchearbeit meist sehr viele Datenquellen kontaktiert werden. In dieser Diplomarbeit wird ein Recherchesystem für Digitale Bibliotheken entwickelt, welches die genannten Probleme beseitigen soll. Das System basiert auf einer mehrschichtigen, verteilten Mediator-/Wrapper-Architektur. Zum Zweck der Kommunikation zwischen den Ebenen werden dokumentenorientierte Web-Services verwendet. Ein wichtiges Entwicklungsziel war es, die einfache Erweiterbarkeit hinsichtlich neuer Datenquellen zu gewährleisten. Im Rahmen einer prototypischen Implementierung in Java konnten mit DBLP und CiteSeer zwei populäre Digitale Bibliotheken integriert werden.
