Histoire de la psychanalyse au Danemark / History of psychoanalysis in Danmark

Rousseau, Dominique 18 November 2017 (has links)
Lacan’s teachings relied on Hegel with a repeated reference to Kierkegaard.Furthermore, the History of Psychoanalysis in Denmark starts with Kierkegaard’s work that serves as an introduction to analytical discourse. The second part, entitled Danish Psychoanalysis in the 20th century, opens with the analysis of the report written about the first psychoanalytical treatment ever carried out in Denmark. The treatment, placed in the socio-cultural context of the time, was administered by Sigurd Næsgaard (1883-1956) in the early 1930’s. The « negative transference» surrounding psychoanalysis in Denmark was in large part due to August Wimmer (1872-1937) who was a professor of psychiatry and a renowned physician in medical and legal institutions. We also examined various influences by the Danish analyst P.C. Petersen (1889-1976), Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), and Oskar Pfister (1873-1956).In the 1950’s, Dr Thorkil Vanggaard (1910-1998) gave Danish psychoanalysis its « ego-psychology » orientation and finally earned the recognition of the Danish Psychoanalytical Society through the International Psykoanalytical Association. In the 1970’s there was renewed interest in psycholoanalysis in academia. Lacanian circles were formed, creating a reconnection to Kierkegaard’s work. The influence of psychoanalysis grew steadily until the end of the 20th century when many therapists were trained. Although no academic chair was ever established, countless academic bodies refer to psychoanalysis. In addition to « historical » psychoanalytical societies, new ones are emerging. How is Danish psychoanalysis doing in 2017? That is the question the third part of this thesis attempts to answer.

Resisting Assimilation: Ethnic Boundary Maintenance Among Jews in Sweden

Grobgeld, David January 2017 (has links)
This paper applies the ethnic boundary making theory developed by Andreas Wimmer to understand the maintenance of Jewish ethnic identification in Sweden, as expressed in thirteen interviews with Swedish Jews. Wimmer’s theory holds that ethnic conflict and persecution routinizes and entrenches perceptions of ethnic difference; I argue that the antisemitic persecutions of the 20th century has entrenched the perception of the ethnic distinctiveness of Jews among Jews themselves. These persecutions also contribute to alienation from Swedish society, which does not share the same historical identity and frames of understanding. These factors in turn motivate the participants to maintain the ethnic boundary between Swedes and Jews and guard it against assimilation. Ethnic consciousness also motivates Jews to endow the category of “Jewish” with cultural content, sometimes having previously lacked knowledge of Jewish culture; the cultural distinctiveness of Jews is thus shown to partly be a result of the ethnic boundary between Jews and others, and not just an explanation for that boundary. However; the participants are generally not prepared to restrict the choice of romantic bonds to fellow Jews; since social closure is required to maintain ethnic boundaries (as stressed by Wimmer), this puts the participants in a contradictory situation.

Panana Ato, Diana Patricia 24 June 2016 (has links)
