Abstract ”Do you have common sense? Great! Then you can work as a preschool teacher!” A qualitative study of preschool teachers and Facebook The aim of this study is to investigate how preschool teachers, working in a small town, feel that their professional role affects their private use of Facebook. We will also like to find out what expectations preschool teachers themselves perceive that others, ie, parents of children in preschool, have on them and their behavior on Facebook. Therefore, it is also relevant to consider the expectations that parents have for preschool teachers' behavior on Facebook . By comparing the expectations and perceptions of these groups, we want to try to find out what moral principles that guide the perceptions and the behaviors. The issues designed with the purpose is:   How does preschool teacher's professional role affect their private use of Facebook? How do parents, with children at the preschool expect that teachers should behave on Facebook? What are the moral principles underpinning the preschool teachers' behavior on Facebook ? What are the moral principles underpinning the parental perceptions of preschool teachers' behavior on Facebook ?   The results of the study show contradictions in the answers from both preschool teachers and parents. These contradictions are inherently interesting, and are also the focus of the analysis. Different moral dimensions occurred to be in conflict with each other, such as the right to privacy and common sense. The conclusions we can draw from this study is that preschool teachers adapt their behavior on Facebook, because of the professional role as preschool teachers. We can also see that parents have certain expectations of how a preschool teacher should behave, and that these expectations are guided by professional standards and common sense.
