This thesis deals with systematic revision, evolutionary trends, palaeoecology and migration patterns of crustaceans (Cirripedia and Decapoda) from the Upper Cretaceous of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Thesis is presented as a compilation of 9 papers that were published in scientific peer-reviewed journals and includes not only old museum material, but also numerous crustacean specimens which have been recovered in the last decade. Besides, short remarks on fossil crustaceans currently under study or in the process of being published (Paraclythia, Oncopareia, Acrothoracica) are also included in this thesis. In view of the fact that the fossil crustaceans from the BCB were most recently recorded in the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries (and partially revised in the first half of the 20th century) and since the systematics and taxonomy have changed significantly, all papers presented here focus primarily on systematic revision and modern description. The essential part of the thesis thus deals with taphonomy and its bearing on the identification of fossil material. Amyloidosis is a term used for a whole group of diseases caused by deposition of a substance called amyloid into different tissues. Amyloid may be produced by a range of pathologic processes. Heart affliction is typical for only several types of amyloidoses. Heart involvement is then the patient`s prognosis major limiting factor. Diagnosis of heart amyloidosis is difficult especially for nonspecific symptoms and nonspecific findings obtained during common diagnostic procedures. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate usefulness of novel diagnostic methods, namely cardiac magnetic resonance with gadolinium enhancement and a simplified echocardiographic evaluation of left ventricular longitudinal strain, in diagnosing amyloid cardiomyopathy. In our first study we examined 22 patients with light chain amyloidosis by echocardiography and also with cardiac magnetic resonance with late gadolinium enhancement. We compared morphologic and functional parameters acquired by magnetic resonance examination, which is considered a gold standard for morphologic and functional measurements, with values obtained by echocardiographic measurement. This thesis discusses the limits of statute of contractual obligations solely from the perspective of conflict of law rules. It is based primarily on the analysis of national conflict of law rules contained in Act No. 91/2012 Coll., On Private International Law. There are also analyzed relevant standards of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No. 593/2008 on the law applicable to contractual obligations (Rome I) and conflict of law rules in the German Initial Act to the Civil Code, as well as in the Swiss Act on Private International Law. The primary hypothesis of this work is the concept of a single contractual statute, which governes contractual relationship since the early beginning to the end. The secondary hypothesis follows the departure of German international private law from the principle of seat for the principle of incorporation.
