One of the biggest challenges in Swedish education is figuring out how to support the growing number of refugees. Although the country has had plenty of migration since World War II the knowledge about how to teach this group in school is limited. The purpose of this study is to investigate how high schoolteachers in civics are doing to help this category of students and relate it to Pauline Gibbons theory. The Australians main thesis is that teachers should focus on both language and the subject. I did the research by interviewing six teachers and found out that most of Gibbons thoughts are logical but that plenty are hard to implement under the current circumstances. It is also very important to be flexible while implanting the theory to get the wished effect.
