Das Mobilitätssystem befindet sich in einem umfassenden Transformationsprozess, der noch lange andauern wird. Megatrends wie Digitalisierung, Elektrifizierung oder Automatisierung stellen den gesamten Mobilitätssektor vor große technische Herausforderungen. Um die Transformation erfolgreich und insbesondere markttauglich umzusetzen, sind international abgestimmte Standards und Normen von entscheidender Bedeutung. Ein zukunftsorientiertes, integriertes Mobilitätssystem führt zur Entwicklung neuer Produkte, Anwendungen und Geschäftsmodelle und bietet Wachstumschancen. Um sie auf dem Markt erfolgreich anbieten zu können, müssen hohe Anforderungen an Qualität, Sicherheit und Benutzbarkeit erfüllt sein. Das setzt ein einheitliches Verständnis des technischen Rahmens sowie Standards und Normen voraus, um für alle Marktteilnehmer gleiche Voraussetzungen zu schaffen. Gerade vor dem Hintergrund eines immer komplexer werdenden Mobilitätssystems, das sich bereits heute über eine Vielzahl von Branchen und Technologien erstreckt, wie die Automobiltechnik, die Elektro- und Energietechnik sowie die Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie, ist dies von großer Bedeutung. Dieser Trend zum branchenübergreifenden Zusammenwirken wird sich in Zukunft noch weiter verstärken. Standards und Normen stellen die notwendige Kompatibilität, Interoperabilität und vor allem die Sicherheit der vielfältigen Mobilitätssysteme her. Sie sorgen für Investitionssicherheit, fördern Innovationen und bilden damit die Grundlage für eine Mobilität der Zukunft. Mit dem vorliegenden Kompendium Standards und Normen für die Mobilität der Zukunft legt die NPM einen umfassenden und strategisch ausgerichteten Bericht vor, der verschiedene Schlüsselthemen zur Zukunft der Mobilität gezielt betrachtet. Die daraus abgeleiteten Handlungsempfehlungen wurden in einem fachübergreifenden Austausch mit allen Arbeitsgruppen der NPM erarbeitet, der sich für die Beteiligten als enorm gewinnbringend herausstellte. Das Kompendium baut auf den erarbeiteten Schwerpunkt- Roadmaps auf und bildet damit sowohl den strategischen Rahmen als auch den Ausgangspunkt für die weitere Diskussion zur Zukunft der Standardisierungs- und Normungsarbeit im Mobilitätssektor. Der Transformationsprozess im Mobilitätssystem setzt sich weiterhin fort und wird auch zukünftig neue Fragen und Herausforderungen mit sich bringen. Mein herzlicher Dank gilt allen, die sich an der Entwicklung der Schwerpunkt-Roadmaps und der zusammenfassenden Darstellung in diesem Kompendium beteiligt haben. Impressum / In the National Platform Future of Mobility (NPM), experts in industry, associations, ministries and science work together towards one vision: a sustainable mobility that remains affordable for everybody in Germany. The topic “Standardisation and norms” assumes a special significance in this context. Standards and norms enable society, the economy and the political establishment to work together to formulate technical recommendations and framework conditions that not only ensure quality, reliability and usability, but also systemic integration capability and interoperability. They are therefore the key to innovation in an increasingly complex interconnected world, protect investments and are the basis for ensuring that the vision “Future of Mobility” becomes reality. Standards and norms define the state of the art and the requirements for products and services. They also increase acceptance by society and trust in new technologies. The requirements to be met by products and services are defined in a transparent process. In this case, the fundamental principle that standardisation projects are worked out consensually with the participation of all interested groups for the benefit of the general public applies. The compendium Standards and norms for mobility of the future is the result of intensive inter-thematic collaboration within the NPM working group 6 “Standardisation, norms, certification and type approval”. The first step was to agree on and collate the most important interrelated themes on the future of mobility with all working groups of the NPM. The result was an initial white paper, which summarised the key challenges and cross-industry standardisation requirements. WG 6 used this white paper as a strategic guideline for subsequent work. In the next step, the members of WG 6 and other experts working in the field of standardisation examined the thematic areas defined in the white paper in detail and on this basis developed focal roadmaps. These focal roadmaps describe the current situation as well as existing challenges, and provide specific recommendations for action in relation to further development of standards and norms. WG 6 developed four focal roadmaps for the themes “Sustainable mobility”, “Intelligent load management”, “Automated and connected driving”, “Data and networking – standards and norms for intermodal mobility”. An additional roadmap on the topic of “Artificial intelligence and mobility”, which was derived from the overarching German standardisation roadmap artificial intelligence initiated by DIN and DKE, was adopted and integrated into this compendium. The roadmap for sustainable mobility contains countless examples and recommendations that demonstrate the enormous contribution that standards and norms can make towards establishing a sustainable transportation system. They have one added value in particular, namely to facilitate the evaluation and comparison of sustainability measures, and also ensure their traceability. In the area of electromobility, the Intelligent load management roadmap indicates that the increasing number of charging cycles is posing significant but not insurmountable challenges to the grid. In future the loads that occur at specific points on the grid must be balanced out so that the grid remains stable. The prerequisite for this is that the charging infrastructure communicates with the vehicles and grid in all directions and can be intelligently controlled.
