Architecture extends far beyond the structuring of basic shelter. The role of architecture is to have a positive contribution on the human being and the surrounding environment. The dissertation proposes to re-address the experience of architecture in the public realm and investigate its responsibility and potential contribution towards cultural and environmental heritage. The selected project is an Interpretation centre for the Tswaing Meteorite Crater, located within the historic salt and soda factory in the Tswaing Nature reserve, Gauteng, South Africa.
