The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers in preschool experience stress in their work environment. We also want to examine which factors in preschool that are contributing to the stress. The main theory in our study is socialconstruktivism. We want to put the teachers experiences of stress in a social context and highlight the changes in preschool in rescent times. We hope to gain a greater understanding of preschool teacher’s situation today. The summary of our study is that all preschool teachers in our study are experiencing daily stress at work and the main factors are too little time för planning and administrative tasks, large group of children, high noise levels and increased workload. Most of them also felt that they didn’t get any understanding or support from the preschool manager about the experienced stress. All teachers also expressed feelings where boundaries between work and leisure is blur.
