Previous issue date: 2006-05-19 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The present work has the aim of estimate the recharge for a phreatic granular aquifer located at Piranga river drainage basin, at Paula Cândido (MG) municipality area. Three techniques were used in order to achieve this recharge: ground-water inventory, water level variation and ground-water discharge measurement. The water level variation evaluation was based on five observation wells. Ground water discharge measurements were done throughout a spillway installed at a small stream that drains and a hydrometer installed at a spring, both of them located into the studied micro basin. The evaluation of ground water recharge based on ground-water inventory method was carried out through a software, named SH 2.0 and was based on a infiltration model proposed by Green-Ampt and at total evaporation calculated according to Penman-Monteith. A complete physical characterization of the studied area was done, in order to allow a better knowledge of local geology, aquifer units and data-acquisition, for use as input data for SH 2.0 software. The water level variation method result in a recharge of 183.3 mm/year, while the result obtained through ground-water inventory method was 377,0 mm/year. Finally, the ground water discharge method resulted in a recharge of 181.3 mm/year. The calculated values for recharge fit the results obtained by other authors in Brazil. / O presente trabalho teve por objetivo estimar a recarga de um aqüífero
granular freático, inserido em uma microbacia do rio Piranga-MG, localizada no município de Paula Cândido MG. Foram utilizadas três técnicas de estimativa de recarga: o balanço hídrico, o método das variações do nível d'água (VNA ou WTF) e a medição da descarga de água subterrânea. O método das variações do nível d'água utilizou dados de cinco poços de observação do nível d'água. As medições de descarga de água subterrânea foram feitas por meio de um vertedouro instalado no córrego que drena a área pesquisada e por meio de um hidrômetro instalado em uma nascente hidromineral. A estimativa de recarga pelo método do balanço hídrico foi realizada por meio do software SH 2.0. O balanço hídrico foi realizado com base no modelo de infiltração de água
no solo proposto por Green-Ampt e na evapotranspiração calculada segundo Penman-Monteith. Para um melhor conhecimento da geologia local, das unidades aqüíferas presentes e para aquisição de dados que são úteis na alimentação do software SH 2.0 realizou-se uma caracterização completa da área de pesquisa. O método das variações do nível d'água obteve uma taxa de recarga de 183,3 mm/ano, o método do balanço hídrico, que foi realizado por meio do software SH 2.0, 377,0 mm/ano e o método da medição da descarga de águas subterrâneas, 181,3 mm/ano. Os valores encontrados estão dentro do esperado e vão de encontro com resultados encontrados por outros pesquisadores em outras regiões do Brasil.
