Previous issue date: 2017-09-29 / Esta dissertação de mestrado, intitulada “Reflexões sobre o trabalho do Assistente Social na Assistência Estudantil”, teve como objetivo de estudo analisar o trabalho do Serviço Social na Assistência Estudantil no contexto das Pró-Reitorias de Assuntos Comunitários e Estudantis nas seguintes instituições: Universidade Federal de Alfenas, Universidade Federal do ABC e da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro. A metodologia utilizada foi pautada na pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo, sob referência do método materialista histórico dialético. Aborda brevemente o papel do Estado na dinâmica da luta de classes, faz aproximações à concepção de educação que orienta o trabalho do assistente social. Foi possível apreender as medidas da contrarreforma da educação e os rebatimentos na Assistência Estudantil, à qual tem se pautado na lógica programática e seletiva. Diante deste cenário complexo em que se inscreve a prática profissional do assistente social, refletimos sobre as condições concretas de realização do exercício profissional nas IFES, destacando ao longo desta investigação a dimensão educativa do trabalho como forma de enfrentamento dos desafios cotidianos e também como potencialidade para a construção de um exercício profissional orientado pelos princípios do Projeto Ético Político do Serviço Social. / This dissertation, entitled "Reflections on the Work of the Social Worker in Student Assistance", aimed to study the work of the Social Work in Student Assistance in the context of the Pro-Rectorates of Community and Student Affairs in the following institutions: Federal University of Alfenas, Federal University of ABC and the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro. The methodology used was based on bibliographical, documentary and field research, with reference to the dialectical historical materialist method. It briefly addresses the role of the state in the dynamics of the class struggle, makes approximations to the conception of education that guides the work of the social worker. It was possible to grasp the measures of the counterreformation of education and the refutations in Student Assistance, which has been based on the programmatic and selective logic. Faced with this complex scenario in which the social worker's professional practice is inscribed, we reflect on the concrete conditions for the professional exercise in the IFES, highlighting throughout this research the educational dimension of work as a way of coping with everyday challenges and also as a potential for the construction of a professional exercise guided by the principles of the Social Service Political Ethics Project.
