Ce mémoire présente les résultats d'une recherche effectuée à Ticopô, village maya situé dans la zone henequenera du Yucatân, au Mexique. Dans une approche constructiviste enrichie par l'apport de l'économie politique, l'auteure s'intéresse à la construction de l'identité de la femme maya au Yucatân, en lien avec l'imaginaire social. Un chapitre portant sur la construction des identités autochtones au Mexique permet de situer cet imaginaire social dans une perspective historique globale. L'auteure examine ensuite les processus par lesquels des hommes et des femmes mayas de différentes générations (enfants, jeunes et adultes) incorporent, contestent ou négocient des critères identitaires de toutes sortes (apparence physique, domaines d'activité, rapports sociaux, etc.) véhiculés par diverses manifestations symboliques de l'imaginaire social à Ticopô. Elle privilégie pour cela l'étude de manifestations symboliques locales : théâtre indigène (teatro indigena), événements importants dans l'année ou dans la vie d'une personne, histoires racontées et conseils donnés aux enfants. / This Master's thesis presents the results of a research study conducted in Ticopô, a Maya village located in the henequenera zone of Yucatân in Mexico. Using a constructivist approach, enriched by the contribution of political economies, the author studies the construction of the identities of Maya women in relation with the social imaginary. A chapter focusing on the construction of aboriginal identities in Mexico helps put this social imaginary in a global historical perspective. The author then analyses the processes by which Maya men and women of different generations (children, teenagers, and adults) incorporate, oppose, or negotiate identity criteria of ail sorts (physical appearance, field of activities, social relations, etc.) conveyed by various symbolic manifestations of the social imaginary in Ticopô. The author's methodology favours the study of local symbolic manifestations: Aboriginal theatre (teatro indigend), important annual or one-time events in the life of a person, stories being told, and advice being given, to children.
