After the recent pandemic a lot of people decided to work from home. Previous research has asked the question if leadership during distance work needs to evolve. Our study focuses on finding out what motivates the employees when they work from home and what kind of leadership they want. By using Situational leadership theory as a basis for the different leadership styles and using Job characteristics model to identify motivation factors. Through a qualitative method using semi structured interviews, we have found evidence that the employees are satisfied when they work from home. But they are missing the social aspects of work. The study also finds that more communication and adaptation is necessary for the workers to feel better. This would require the leadership to take on a supporting role. / Under pandemin bestämde sig många för att arbeta hemifrån. Många studier och tidigare forskningar har ställt frågan om ledarskap vid distans borde ändras. Våran studie fokuserar på att ta reda på vad som motiverar de anställda, och vilken typ av ledarskap som kan vara optimalt för arbetare som jobbar på distans. Genom att använda den situationsanpassade ledarskaps teorin som en grund för att undersöka de olika ledarstilarna och job characteristics-modellen för att identifiera motivationsfaktorer. Med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod som fokuserat på semistrukturerade intervjuer, har vi hittat bevis att de flesta distansarbetare trivs att jobba hemifrån, men de saknar den sociala delen från sitt jobb. Studien har också hittat att kommunikation måste utvecklas för att de arbetande ska kunna prestera och må bra, samt att chefens ledarstil måste utvecklas till en stödjande roll.
