Syftet med studien var att utforska socialarbetares uppfattning om barns delaktighet iutredningar vid barn- och ungdomsenheter inom socialtjänsten i Sverige, samt att undersökade utmaningar som finns med barns delaktighet. Studien är en kvalitativ studie med deduktivansats, genomförd genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med socialarbetare. Genom attanvända Harts teoretiska ramverk framkom genom tematisk innehållsanalys följande teman:förutsättningarna för barns delaktighet, olika sätt barn deltar på, och användningen av barnsdelaktighet. Resultatet visade att samtliga socialarbetare anser att barns delaktighet är viktigt,och att deras arbete görs för barnen. De främsta utmaningarna med att göra barn delaktiga ärbristen på förutsättningar socialarbetare har till följd av framförallt hög arbetsbelastning vilketleder till bortprioritering av barnsamtal. Slutsatsen var att det behövs genomföras flerbarnsamtal samt att det finns möjligheter för barn att få större delaktighet ibarnavårdsutredningar, men att ansvaret för förändring inte enbart ligger hos socialarbetarnautan hos högre instanser. / The purpose of the study was to explore social workers' perspectives on children'sparticipation in investigations at child and youth units within Social Services in Sweden, aswell as to investigate the challenges associated with children's participation. This is adeductive qualitative study utilizing thematic content analysis conducted throughsemi-structured interviews with social workers. By utilizing Hart's theoretical framework, thefollowing themes emerged: the conditions for children's participation, different ways in whichchildren participate, and the utilization of children's participation. The results indicated thatall social workers consider children's participation crucial, but the lack of resources,particularly high workloads, results in the deprioritization of child interviews. The conclusionis that there is a need for more child interviews, and while there are opportunities for childrento have greater involvement in child welfare investigations, the responsibility for change doesnot solely rest with social workers, but also with higher authorities.
