Previous issue date: 2016-11-23 / Viva o povo brasileiro, work of 1984, by João Ubaldo Ribeiro, is the source of study
to approach the ironic discourse that begins soon in the title. Language acclaims the
people as a hero throughout the narrative. In almost four centuries of clashes, the
speech emphasizes the characteristics of the characters, brings their nuances of
colors and the mixture of languages. The time and the place are organized to mock
the own historical episodes, they allow us to read what is not said, but possible to be
seen between the lines. The theoretical foundation passes through Barthes, Bhabba,
Bernd, Fanon, Brait, Ducrot, Machado and other authors. The methodology adopted
consisted of bibliographical readings, searching for the relation between the
constitutive elements of the work mainly on the war and the irony permeated by the
hybrid content that color the narrated events. Continuously, the act of warfare is an
object that moves the lives of the characters. Thus the composition of narrative text
reveals its blend of hybridized worlds and stories. / Viva o povo brasileiro, obra de 1984 de João Ubaldo Ribeiro, é a fonte de estudo
para a abordagem do discurso irônico que começa logo no título. A linguagem
aclama o povo como herói em toda a narrativa. Em quase quatro séculos de
embates, o discurso releva as características das personagens, traz suas nuanças
de cores e a mistura de línguas. O tempo e o espaço são organizados para ironizar
os próprios episódios históricos, permitem-nos ler o que não está dito, mas possível
de ser visto nas entrelinhas. A fundamentação teórica perpassa por Barthes,
Bhabba, Bernd, Fanon, Brait, Ducrot, Machado e outros autores. A metodologia
adotada consistiu nas leituras bibliográficas, buscando a relação entre os elementos
constitutivos da obra principalmente sobre a guerra e a ironia permeadas pelo teor
híbrido que colore os eventos narrados. De forma contínua, o ato de guerrear é
objeto que movimenta a vida das personagens. Assim, a composição do texto
narrativo revela sua mistura de mundos e histórias hibridizadas.
