The master’s thesis reviews the major problems and concepts of the analysis of creativity. Having analysed the literature of foreign and Lithuanian authors on this subject has shown that in Lithuania the creativity of the future specialists of art has not been researched.
In this thesis paper we seek to reveal the essence of creativity and the formation level of self estimation. A psychological problem has been raised in the thesis paper: what are the features of the creativity of the students of arts and their relation to other personality indexes. To determine the students’ creativity, the questionnaire of personality’s creativity by V. Petrulis (1988), consisting of 64 statements, was used, and the one point scale by A. Petrulytė (1995) which was used for the determination of the link between creativity and subjective estimation.
The research carried out has shown that the creativity of the students of arts according to the personality questionnaire of V. Petrulis is higher and statistically significant.
It was determined that the creativity is linked to subjective self estimation. Therefore, it is very important for young adults to estimate their creative skills; a successful creative process depends upon positive self estimation.
The research has shown that creativity does not depend upon gender.
It is common to think that the people with higher intellect are more creative. However, the research did not confirm this attitude.
