Previous issue date: 2013-03-14 / This thesis presents the development and the conclusions of an investigation about the formation, the dynamics and the consolidation of the cinematographic field of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, mainly focused on activities performed in Porto Alegre during the 20th Century. The specific objectives of this work were the identification of the social and intelectual emergencies of the cinematographic field in Rio Grande do Sul since the positions and the taking of stance established by the dominant agents of the area: the filmmakers. The analysis of the different conditions and heritages - origins and social path -, which imply in affinities, tensions and adaptations to the different social spaces that relate themselves to the ones in question (associations, companies, academic field, media, cultural universe). And the investigation of the values in dispute, of different logics, spheres of activities, strategies of compatibility and adaptation, and the distinctions and opositions in the relation of internal forces of the area, and externally, among the cinematographic field (that is also considered in a larger limit, which includes the issues of national and international scope), the politic field and the economic field. / Esta tese apresenta o desenvolvimento e as conclus?es de uma investiga??o sobre a forma??o, a din?mica e a consolida??o do campo cinematogr?fico rio-grandense, notadamente centrado nas atividades exercidas na cidade de Porto Alegre ao longo do s?culo XX. Os objetivos espec?ficos do trabalho foram a identifica??o das condi??es sociais e intelectuais de emerg?ncia do campo cinematogr?fico rio-grandense a partir das posi??es e tomadas de posi??o estabelecidas pelos agentes dominantes do campo: os cineastas. A an?lise das diferentes condi??es e heran?as - origens e trajet?rias sociais, que implicam em afinidades, tens?es e adapta??es aos diferentes espa?os sociais que se relacionam com os indiv?duos em quest?o (associa??es, empresas, meio acad?mico, meios de comunica??o, universo cultural). E a investiga??o dos valores em disputa, das diferentes l?gicas, esferas de atua??o, estrat?gias de compatibiliza??o e adapta??o, e das diferencia??es e oposi??es na rela??o de for?as interna ao campo, e, externamente, entre o campo cinematogr?fico (inclusive considerado num limite mais extenso, que contemple as quest?es de ?mbito nacional e internacional), o campo pol?tico e o campo econ?mico.
