Previous issue date: 2006-12-15 / This research had the objective to investigate the group of youth of the
parochial community. It verified the influence or not of the religious ideas, propagated
in this group in the formation of the politic identity of the youth. For the study of the
subject, the methodology used, took in consideration some concepts such as:
identity, politics, youth, group and religion.
For identity we assume that it is the resultant of a self-perception cultural
process of construction. The term youth was taken as social and delimited category
used by ONU, from 15 to 24 years old. The concept of religious was understood as a
meaning former and the group as a mediator of the citizen and the amplest reality, as
space of learning and formation of protagonists. We understand politics as place and
form to exercise power which is proper of the relations of human beings; as the art of
living together with the different and its capacity to create consensuses.
We could realize that the experience lived in the group of youth can make
difference in the formation of people lives, however it depends on the conditions of
the group, the time of participation and the level of the evolvement of the person in
the process. With these considerations it s possible to say that for some youth that
take part of the group the religious ideas feeds an action directed toward the other
person and, also, to the enrollment in small actions that modify the life of the youth
and the community where he or she participates. Therefore, the group can form new
ethos politician in the young that of it participates, depending on the participation
conditions. / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar o grupo de jovens da comunidade
paroquial. Ela verificou, ainda, a influência ou não das idéias religiosas veiculadas
neste grupo na formação da identidade política dos/as jovens. Para o estudo do
tema, a metodologia utilizada serviu-se de alguns conceitos chaves, tais como
identidade, política, juventude, grupo e religião.
Sobre identidade assumimos que é a autopercepção resultante de um
processo cultural de construção. O termo juventude foi tomado como categoria
social e delimitado na faixa etária assumida pela ONU, de 15 a 24 anos. A religião é
entendida como fornecedora de sentido e o grupo, como mediador entre o sujeito e
a realidade mais ampla e como espaço de aprendizagem e formação de
protagonistas. Entendemos política como lugar e forma de exercício do poder que é
próprio das relações humanas; como a arte de convivência entre os diferentes e a
sua capacidade de criar consensos.
Pudemos perceber que a experiência vivida no grupo de jovens pode fazer
diferença na formação dos/as jovens, porém depende das condições do grupo, do
tempo de participação e do grau do envolvimento do/a jovem no processo. Com
estas considerações pode-se afirmar que para alguns/mas jovens que participam do
grupo, as idéias religiosas alimentam uma ação voltada para a outra pessoa e,
também, para o engajamento em pequenas ações que alteram a vida do/a jovem e
da comunidade a partir da qual ele/ela participa. Portanto, o grupo pode formar um
novo ethos político no/a jovem que dele participa, dependendo das condições de
participação.
