Previous issue date: 2014 / As Empresas Inovadoras possuem um papel cada vez mais relevante numa economia em que o conhecimento, a criatividade e o espírito empreendedor constituem fatores chave de produção e diferenciação. As estratégias e mecanismos para estimular e qualificar o processo de criação e desenvolvimento de empresas inovadoras têm sido alvo de pesquisas em todo o mundo e destacam o papel fundamental de dois instrumentos: os Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador, contemplando incubadoras, parques tecnológicos, regiões inovadoras e outras estruturas de apoio à cultura empreendedora; e os veículos de investimento em novos negócios, que constituem a chamada Indústria de Venture Capital. É neste contexto que se insere esta pesquisa, desenvolvida para investigar a influência dos Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador na Indústria de Venture Capital visando estabelecer as bases e os fundamentos para a proposição de estratégias de apoio às Empresas Inovadoras. Apesar do vasto e valioso material de pesquisa que trata dos temas (Empresas, Ecossistemas e Venture Capital), a bibliometria indica que a grande maioria dos casos não aborda a questão de forma integrada, especialmente no que se refere à questão tratada na tese. Para desenvolver o trabalho, foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva com abordagem qualitativa contemplando uma revisão de literatura seguida da aplicação de questionário e entrevistas junto a treze gestores e especialistas de Venture Capital que atuam no âmbito de Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador. A interação com este grupo se baseou num instrumento de pesquisa gerado a partir de um conjunto de modelos conceituais desenvolvidos para compreender os três elementos básicos da investigação: as Empresas Inovadoras, os Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador e a Indústria de Venture Capital. Os resultados indicam que atualmente os ecossistemas exercem uma influência que varia entre moderada e forte sobre os vários fatores da Indústria de Venture Capital, podendo chegar a forte ou plena no futuro. A pesquisa também reforça que há uma expectativa e confiança de que os Ecossistemas podem vir a desempenhar um papel cada vez mais importante na performance do processo de Venture Capital e dos seus resultados na forma de Empresas Inovadoras mais competitivas e bem sucedidas. Nesta linha, a pesquisa avança na identificação e proposição de 25 Estratégias a serem adotadas pelos Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador, por meio de seus sistemas e mecanismos de suporte, para apoiar Empresas Inovadoras investidas pela Indústria de Venture Capital. Finalmente, a pesquisa permite concluir que o entendimento acerca da influência dos Ecossistemas de Empreendedorismo Inovador sobre os fatores críticos da Indústria de Venture Capital contribui decisivamente para proposição de estratégias consistentes e efetivas de apoio às Empresas Inovadoras.<br> / Abstract : Innovative companies have an increasingly important role in an economy in which knowledge, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit constitute key factors of production and distinction. The strategies and mechanisms for stimulating and qualifying the process of creation and development of innovative companies has been the subject of studies throughout the world and highlights the essential role of two instruments: Ecosystems of Innovative Entrepreneurship, which include incubators, technological parks, innovative regions and other structures of support for entrepreneurial culture; and vehicles of investment in new businesses, which constitute what is known as the Venture Capital Industry. It is in this context that this study is inserted, and undertaken to investigate the influence of ecosystems of innovative entrepreneurship on the venture capital industry to establish the foundations and basic principles for the proposal of strategies to support innovative companies. Despite the vast and valuable research material about the issues of companies, ecosystems and venture capital, the bibliometry indicates that most cases do not address the issue in an integrated manner, especially concerning the question raised in this thesis. To conduct the work, a descriptive study was conducted with a qualitative approach that includes a review of the literature followed by the application of a questionnaire and interviews with thirteen venture capital managers and specialists who work in the realm of ecosystems of innovative entrepreneurship. The interaction with this group is based on a research instrument generated from a set of conceptual models developed to understand the three basic elements of the study: innovative companies, the ecosystems of innovative entrepreneurship and the venture capital industry. The results indicate that the ecosystems now exercise an influence that varies from moderate to strong on the various factors of the venture capital industry, and can become strong or complete in the future. The study also emphasizes that there is an expectation and confidence that the ecosystems can have an increasingly important role in the performance of the venture capital process and its results in the form of more competitive innovative companies that are successful. With this perspective, the study advanced in the identification and proposal of 25 Strategies to be adopted by the
ecosystems of innovative entrepreneurship, by means of their support systems and mechanisms, to support innovative companies invested in by the venture capital industry. Finally, the study allows concluding that the understanding of the influence of the ecosystems of innovative entrepreneurship on the critical factors of the venture capital industry contributes decisively to the proposal of consistent and effective support strategies for innovative companies.
