Orientadora: Cristina Soreanu Pecequilo / Resumo: A ascensão da China ao papel de potência econômica de importância global constitui-se como uma das mais significativas transformações para as relações interestatais, ocorridas na virada do século XX para o século XXI. O desenvolvimento chinês suscitou entre diversos autores a hipótese de que o país asiático estaria avançando para alçar-se à condição de potência hegemônica, ocupando o lugar que outrora pertencera aos Estados Unidos. Tendo como base este contexto, a presente pesquisa busca realizar um estudo sobre a trajetória peculiar do país a partir da revolução de 1949, quando se instaura a República Popular da China, e a aproximação com os Estados Unidos em detrimento daquele que deveria ser seu aliado natural, a URSS. Em seguida é debatido o processo de transformação econômica, política e social do país, a partir das reformas adotadas por Deng Xiaoping, e posteriormente pela entrada de capital sob a forma de investimento estrangeiro direito, um dos elementos responsáveis pela ascensão chinesa. Esse resgate visa fornecer alguns elementos necessários para traçar hipóteses acerca de que tipo de Estado a China estaria se configurando, seu lugar nas relações internacionais, a partir dos elementos analíticos contidos na teoria clássica do imperialismo, tal como definida por Vladmir I Lênin, para discutir o marco da transição hegemônica contemporânea e da crise capitalista presente. / Abstract: China's rise to the role of economic power of global significance was established as one of the most significant changes to the interstate relations that occurred at the turn of the twentieth century to the twenty-first century. The chinese development raised among many authors hypothesized that China would be advancing to raise to the hegemonic power condition, occupying the place that once belonged to the United States. Based on this background, this research seeks to conduct a study on the peculiar history of the country from the 1949 revolution, when it establishes the People's Republic of China, and the rapprochement with the United States at the expense of the one who should be your ally natural, the Soviet Union. It is also discussed the process of economic, political and social of the country, from the reforms adopted by Deng Xiaoping, and later of the capital injection in the form of foreign investment law, one of the elements responsible for China's rise. This discussion is intended to provide some necessary elements to draw assumptions about what kind of state China was shaping up, its place in international relations, from the analytical elements in the classical theory of imperialism as defined by Vladimir Lenin, to discuss the landmark of contemporary hegemonic transition and the present capitalist crisis. / Mestre
