Previous issue date: 2014 / Este estudo tem por finalidade apresentar as imagens de leituras praticadas por personagens-leitores, no livro Chove nos campos de Cachoeira (1941), de Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979). O intuito da pesquisa é trazer um novo olhar sobre a produção ficcional do escritor, a partir das leituras de personagens e conhecer, por meio da ficção, o complexo cultural existente na região marajoara. A obra que abre o ciclo do Extremo Norte apresenta vários personagens que representam diferentes tipos de leitores: desde o leitor de obras eruditas ao leitor intensivo de folhetins. Dessa forma, o escritor paraense, ao lado da denúncia social, própria desse romance e de todo o ciclo, figura no complexo processo de aquisição da cultura letrada na região. Assim, a pesquisa foi dividida em cinco capítulos: o primeiro capítulo compreende a parte introdutória da pesquisa; o segundo, aborda A ficção dalcidiana no espaço amazônico, composto pelos tópicos Dalcídio: o leitor da Amazônia e O espaço amazônico redimensionado, que tratam da leitura do escritor e da projeção do cenário marajoara de maneira real e imaginária, apontando os problemas sociais, comuns ao Brasil e ao resto do mundo. No terceiro, será focalizada a teoria sobre leitura, leitor e personagem, apontando os principais teóricos utilizados na pesquisa. O quarto capítulo tratará dos leitores da família do Major Alberto, com os tópicos O gabinete de leitura do Major Alberto, Eutanázio: a falência do ser e a eternização da palavra e Alfredo: um menino leitor. O quinto e último capítulo abordará as diferenças paradoxais entre leituras e leitores, mostrando um leitor comum ao lado de um erudito, nos tópicos Os contrassensos do Dr. Campos e Salu, leitor e contador de histórias. / This study aims to present the readings sketches practiced by characters-readers in the book Chove nos campos de Cachoeira (1941) of Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979). The research aims at raising a new sight over the fictional production of the writer, from the readings of characters and get to know, throughout the fiction, the existing cultural complex in the Marajoara region. The work opens up the cycle up of the Far North and has got several characters that represent different types of readers: from the reader of scholar to the intensive of serials. Thus, the writer of Pará by the social denunciation, peculiar of this novel itself and the whole cycle, perform into the complex process of acquisition of literacy in the region. In this manner, the study is divided into 5 chapters. The first, forewording the research. The second, which deals with The dalcidiana fiction in the Amazon space composed by the Dalcídio heading: the reader from Amazon and The Amazon space resized address the lecturer readings and the projection of marajoara scenario on real manner and imaginary pointing out the social problems, ordinary in Brazil and worldwide. In the third, the theory will be focused on reading, reader and character, indicating the main theorists used in the research. The fourth chapter will address the readers of the Major Alberto family, with the topics The Major Alberto, Eutanázio: collapse of the creature and perpetuation of the word and Alfredo: an infant reader. The fifth and final chapter will adress the paradoxical differences between readings and readers, showing an ordinary reader to the side of a scholar, in the topics The Incongruities of the Dr. Campos and Salu reader and storyteller.
