Previous issue date: 2017-04-18 / There are more and more high-risk organizations for employee health and safety due to the insertion of new technologies and greater emphasis given to the cognitive dimension of work, that is the need for greater knowledge about the performed activity. Civil construction is one of the sectors of economic activity in which occupational accidents occur more often and in wich the risk of accidents is greater. By linking the field of practices with work safety within civil construction, the question arises is: if civil construction is such a relevant sector for the Brazilian economy and if there is a range of accidents in this environment even though there are specific regulatory norms for the sector, how to obtain safety practices in this activity? One of the ways to work preventively on safety issues would be to understand how employees learn safety in their work environment. One of the researches that made a great contribution in this respect was developed by Gherardi and Nicolini (2002), a work that provided an opportunity to describe some of the mechanisms and processes involved in learning in general practice and safety practices in particular. Considering that the investigations of Gheradi, Nicolini and Odessa (1998), Gherardi and Nicolini (2000) and especially Gherardi and Nicolini (2002) allow further reflections, as previously explained, the research question of the present study is to understand how the learning process of safety occurs in civic construction. In order to achieve the aim of this work, a basic qualitative research, of the type study case through a descriptive and interpretive approach. Data were collected using direct observation techniques, using field notes and field diaries, semi-structured interviews and documentary research with a group of employees from a construction company located in Fortaleza. With this research enabled to identify the influence of the social and cultural character in the learning process, being the learning by practice the most relevant factor identified in it.

Security maturity. / Existem cada vez mais organizações de alto risco para a segurança e saúde do colaborador devido à inserção de novas tecnologias e maior ênfase dada à dimensão cognitiva que o trabalho vem adquirindo, ou seja, a necessidade de um maior conhecimento sobre a atividade a ser executada. A construção civil é um dos setores de atividade econômica em que mais ocorrem acidentes e onde o risco de acidentes é maior. Fazendo uma relação entre o campo das práticas com a segurança do trabalho dentro da construção civil, vem o questionamento: se a construção civil é um setor tão relevante para a economia brasileira e se existe uma gama de acidentes nesse ambiente mesmo existindo normas regulamentadoras específicas para o setor, como obter práticas de segurança nessa atividade? Uma das formas de se trabalhar preventivamente questões de segurança seria entendendo como os colaboradores aprendem segurança em seu ambiente laboral. Uma das pesquisas que trouxe grande contribuição nesse aspecto foi desenvolvida por Gherardi e Nicolini (2002), sendo um trabalho que forneceu uma oportunidade para descrever alguns dos mecanismos e processos envolvidos na aprendizagem na prática em geral e práticas de segurança em particular. Considerando que as investigações de Gheradi, Nicolini e Odessa (1998), Gherardi e Nicolini (2000) e, principalmente, Gherardi e Nicolini (2002) permitem novas reflexões, conforme anteriormente exposto, a questão de pesquisa do presente estudo é entender como se dá o processo de aprendizagem de segurança na construção civil. No intuito de alcançar os objetivos deste trabalho, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo estudo de caso por meio de uma abordagem descritiva e interpretativa. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizadas as técnicas de observação sistemática, aberta e não participante, com o recurso a notas de campo e diários de campo, entrevistas semiestruturadas e pesquisa documental com um grupo de colaboradores de uma empresa do ramo da construção civil situada em Fortaleza. Com esta pesquisa foi possível identificar a influência do caráter social e cultural no processo de aprendizagem, sendo o aprender pela prática o fator mais relevante identificado na mesma.
