Previous issue date: 2013 / Resumo: O objetivo principal desta pesquisa foi caracterizar a carga física de trabalho na cafeicultura familiar do sul de Minas Gerais. Doze trabalhadores tiveram suas frequências cardíacas monitoradas e foram filmados na execução de cada uma das subtarefas características da cafeicultura, em condições de terreno plano e em declive. A avaliação das posturas corporais adotadas e das ações operações efetuadas foi obtida através do software "Captiv". Para identificação das principais áreas dolorosas foi utilizado o diagrama de Corlett e a escala RPE Borg foi o instrumento usado para realizar a avaliação subjetiva do esforço percebido nas subtarefas da cafeicultura. Buscou-se correlacionar os resultados das avaliações e interpretá-los à luz da observação das atividades dos trabalhadores. As exigências cardiovasculares mais significativas ocorreram nas subtarefas de adubação foliar, adubação a lanço, secagem e armazenamento, classificando-as como trabalho moderado. A colheita e a desbrota foram as subtarefas que apresentaram maior variabilidade de combinações posturais: a colheita devido a variedade de ações operacionais; a desbrota, apesar de uma única ação operacional relevante, por conta da própria natureza da tarefa. Tanto os indicadores cardiovasculares como os biomecânicos não revelaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre as subtarefas desenvolvidas pelos trabalhadores em condições de terreno plano e em declive. Os resultados sugerem que o método adotado para avaliar as subtarefas com a combinação de diferentes indicadores ? freqüência cardíaca, combinações posturais, manifestação de desconforto corporal e esforço percebido ?, mostrou-se adequado para caracterizar a carga física de trabalho da cafeicultura familiar do sul de Minas Gerais / Abstract: The main objective of this research was to characterize the physical load of work in the coffee farming of familys in the south of Minas Gerais. Twelve workers had their heart rates monitored and were filmed during the execution of each of the subtasks characteristics of coffee production in conditions of flat terrain and downhill. The assessment of body postures adopted and the actions performed were achieved through the "Captiv" software. To identify the key painfull areas was used diagram Corlett and RPE scale. Borg was the instrument used to perform subjective assessment of perceived exertion on the subtasks of coffee farming. We attempted to correlate the results of the assessments and interpret them in the light of the observation of the activities of the workers. The most significant cardiovascular demands occurred in subtasks of foliar fertilization, fertilizer broadcasting, drying and storing, classifying them as moderate work. Harvesting and thinning were the subtasks that appeared to have the greatest variability of postural combinations: the harvest due to the variety of operating actions; the pruning, although only one relevant operational action, due to the very nature of the task. Either cardiovascular indicators or the biomechanical revealed no statistically significant differences between the subtasks undertaken by workers in conditions of flat terrain and downhill. The results suggest that the method adopted to evaluate the subtasks with the combination of different indicators - heart rate, postural combinations, manifestation of bodily discomfort and perceived exertion - was adequate to characterize the physical work load of the coffee farming of familys of southern Minas Gerais / Doutorado / Planejamento e Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável / Doutor em Engenharia Agrícola
