2011_MarcosWanderVieiraAraujo.pdf: 103522654 bytes, checksum: f2e321dea653595e1f3d1c250280dfb3 (MD5) / Esta pesquisa entrecruza memória e história, e recorta, na cidade de Brasília, a trajetória histórica, social e pedagógica da Banda Sinfônica de Brasília (primeira banda civil sinfônica da cidade) como fenômeno urbano, cujas condições de implantação interessou investigar. Construída no âmbito do ensino público, o seu desempenho artístico ocorreu entre 1968 e 1987, culminando com a obtenção do 1º Prêmio no II Campeonato Nacional de Bandas, promovido pela FUNARTE (Fundação Nacional de Artes) em 1978, fato inédito para uma instituição com tradição artística recente. A partir de extenso corpo documental, apoiado sobre narrativas de ex-membros e outros, propõe-se uma análise histórico-interpretativa buscando compreender a sua relevância para a trajetória pessoal dos seus ex-integrantes. Visa ainda contribuir para a preservação e compreensão da memória musical da cidade, sublinhando o impacto social de suas ações na cultura, e significado para o desenvolvimento de ações futuras como elemento formativo de identidades fundamentadas em práticas da cultura. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research intertwines memory and history. It reveals, within the city of Brasília, the historical, pedagogical and social trajectory of Banda Sinfônica de Brasília (Symphonic Band of Brasilia - the first civilian symphonic band in the city), as an urban phenomenon, investigating the conditions under which it evolved. Started from within a public education environment, the band’s artistic, cultural and social development took place between 1968 and 1987, culminating with the 1st Prize in the Second National Band Contest promoted by FUNARTE (Brazil’s National Art Foundation) in 1978, a hitherto unheard of achievement for an institution with such a recent artistic tradition. From the extensive body of documents based on narratives by ex-members and others, we propose a historical-interpretive analysis, seeking to understand the band’s relevance to the personal trajectory of its former members. It is also our goal to contribute to the preservation and understanding of the city's musical memory, highlighting the social impact of the band’s actions in culture and its meaning for the development of future actions as a formative element of identities based on cultural practices.
