Cancer is one of the most common diseases and it affects not only adults but also many adolecents and children every year. Those who are affected of disease face many challenges that will affect their lives. The aim of this literature review was to illuminate adolecents experience of cancer and how it affects them in their daily living. The result showed that the adolecents experience many physical and mental side-effects from disease and treatment. They expressed the need of information, support and understanding from their families, friends, school and care givers. The treatment made it harder for the adolecents to be with their friends and families in their home environment due to all the time they had to spend in the hospital. This created a feeling of isolation and helplessness among the adolecents. The conclusion is that adolescents experience a difficult time due to their disease and treatment. Therefore it is important for the families, friends, school and care givers to be present, to listen and be supportive during their cancer trajectory.
