Abstract In this report I describe how I went about creating an informative, activating and entertaining crafts- booklet for 8- year-olds, and the theories and methods I´ve used in my working process. The booklet was commissioned by the curators of an historical exhibition on Swedish historical figure Axel Oxenstierna, which was the basis for the informative content of the booklet. I used information design- theories such as the principles of gestalt, and design principles in image and text – but also theories such as narrative, and children´s perception. Methods used include target group- analysis, place- analysis, and several content- analyses on similar artefacts. I developed a prototype and conducted interviews based on finished content. Finally I arrived at a conclusion in the form of a design proposal of a structure, an outline, and a few guidelines, which can be used in the design of a crafts- booklet about an historical exhibition. The report is concluded by a critical discussion of methods and a suggestion of more extensive interviews in the event of continued work on the project. / Sammanfattning I den här rapporten beskriver jag hur jag har gått tillväga för att skapa ett informativt, aktiverande och underhållande pysselhäfte inriktat till 8-åringar, och om de teorier och metoder jag använt i min arbetsprocess. Pysselhäftet beställdes av ansvariga för en historisk utställning om Axel Oxenstierna, vilket var basen för det informativa innehållet i häftet. Jag använde informationsdesign- teorier såsom gestaltlagar och designprinciper inom bild och text – men även teorier som behandlar berättande, och barns perception. Metoder som använts inkluderar målgrupps- och plats- analys, samt flera formalanalyser på liknande artefakter. Jag utvecklade en prototyp och utförde intervjuer på färdigt material. Slutligen kom jag fram till en slutsats i form av ett designförslag på en struktur, en disposition, och ett fåtal riktlinjer, som kan användas vid utformningen av ett pysselhäfte om en historisk utställning. Rapporten avslutas med en metodkritisk diskussion och förslag till mer omfattande intervjuer i händelse av ett fortsatt arbete.
