This study examines how the discussion around femdom is conducted in comments on an internet forum. Femdom is a sexual role-taking where the woman is superior to the man in a sexual relationship. A large part of the previous research on sexual power structures is based on a role-taking where the woman is subservient to the man. Therefore, it was studied how and what role gender and power have within the phenomenon of femdom, with a focus on female empowerment in sexual relationships. The approach to study the discussion around femdom in discussion threads was via text analysis with content analysis as a methodological approach. The theories used in the essay were Hirdman's theory of the gender contract and Gagnon & Simon's theory of sexual scripts. The results showed that the discussions around femdom that make up the study's empiricism were focused on gender, power and equality.
