Previous issue date: 2001-08-20 / This study intends to analyze the history and legislation of the Religious
Teaching Subject in Brazil, through bibliographical research and of interview with
teachers and students. The Religious Teaching in Brazil, went through several
alterations based in laws elapsing its history. However it stayed linked to the religious
faith according to orientation of the churches. The work points the fights and the
conquests held in the Religious Teaching, however, most of the time little value was
given by the political leaders and by the professionals of the education involved with
the Religious Teaching Subject. It can be verified that when sanctioning a law it is
necessary to offer conditions of execution of the same. We appeared for the need of
having present, in the analysis, the subject of the execution of the article 33 of the
New Law of Guidelines and Bases in practice of the Religious Teaching Subject
trying to work the Parameters National Curriculars of Religious Teaching, looking for
the effective exercise regarding the existent cultural diversity in the class room and in
Brazil. The contents of the Religious Teaching proposed in the Parameters
Curriculars seek to give contributions for the reafirmation of the school as encounter
place, dialogue understanding with views to the citizen basic formation. / Este estudo se propõe analisar a história e legislação da disciplina
Ensino Religioso no Brasil, através de pesquisa bibliográfica e de entrevista com
professores(as) e alunos(as). O Ensino Religioso no Brasil, no transcorrer de sua
história passou por diversas alterações fundamentadas em leis, no entanto se
manteve ligado à fé religiosa conforme orientação das igrejas. O trabalho aponta as
lutas e as conquistas tidas no Ensino Religioso, porém, na maioria das vezes pouco
valorizadas pelas lideranças políticas e pelos profissionais da educação envolvidos
com a disciplina Ensino Religioso. Pode-se constatar que ao sancionar uma lei é
necessário oferecer condições de execução da mesma. Aponta-se para a
necessidade de se ter presente, na análise, a questão da execução do artigo 33 da
Nova Lei de Diretrizes e Bases na prática da disciplina Ensino Religioso procurando
trabalhar os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais de Ensino Religioso, buscando o
exercício efetivo a respeito da diversidade cultural existente na sala de aula e no
Brasil. Os conteúdos do Ensino Religioso propostos nos Parâmetros Curriculares
visam dar contribuições para a reafirmação da escola como lugar de encontro,
diálogo entendimento com vistas à formação básica cidadã.
