Public and privately-owned telephone systems an economic comparison.

This is a study of public-owned and privately-owned telephone systems. It compares four aspects of their operations: rates, operating costs, efficiency, and quality of service. Data covers the period from July 1957 to June 1959, or the financial years 1957 and 1958. The study is based on material obtained from four companies. Three of them are publicly owned: Manitoba Telephone System, Saskatchewan Government Telephones, and Alberta Government Telephones. All three are located in Western Canada.
