Previous issue date: 2016-07-28 / The theater is inherently didactic, its dynamics and representative form, approaches and further clarifies phenomena. The aim of this study is to investigate the action of theater in school and its creative potential as a methodological practice to the classroom. The research population consisted of school students U.E.B. Prof. Rosalia Freire, the 4th and 5th year teaching critical early grades. We opted for the qualitative research approach and procedures of action research. The students involved have built their own drama, based on the context of the research in which they operate and also the livings and theater studies at school. Given the above, the methodology presented here, has achieved success as possible the dramaturgical construction in the classroom. / O teatro é inerentemente didático, sua forma dinâmica e representativa, aproxima e clarifica melhor os fenômenos. O objetivo deste estudo é investigar a ação do teatro na escola e seu potencial criador enquanto prática metodológica para a sala de aula. A população da pesquisa foi constituída por alunos da escola U.E.B. Profª Rosália Freire, do 4º e 5º ano ensino fundamental séries iniciais. Optou-se pela abordagem da pesquisa qualitativa e os procedimentos da pesquisa-ação. Os alunos envolvidos construíram uma dramaturgia própria, partindo da investigação do contexto no qual se inserem e também das vivencias e estudos teatrais realizados na escola. Dado o exposto, a metodologia apresentada aqui, alcançou êxito, pois viabilizou a construção dramatúrgica em sala de aula.
