In modern society major factor, which decisives one or another effect is media and its spreading information. Media which effectively spreads actual, new and objective information, helps to the society to be guided better in reality and to solve existences rised problems in time. One of the major media functions is to inform society. The policy of informing society is one of wardshiped fields of the LR Ministry of Culture. In strategical activities plan of Ministry of Culture for 2005-2007 years is accentuated that: “in this time is very important to ensure conditions for protection of heritage, development of proffesional art, development of informative society. Media gives oportunity to the culture to reach all members of the society, that is very urgent for the regions. “Television helps to the distant population at least illusive visit interesting exhibitions, concerts, highest prestige theatres, meet popular masters of art and culture.” (Tidikienė, 1998:51). TV – the part of culture, means and factor. In other words. TV is formed by culture, but at the same time TV spreads and formes culture. TV can present information to the most wide auditorium.
In the end of 2003 by the order or Minisry of culture the research of cultural needs of lithuanian people was carried aut, that confirmed, that TV is not only the sourse of information, but at the same time and the means of spreading.
