Previous issue date: 2007-11-22 / This work is a study of a case using as research verbal histories of Dorcelina Folador Nesting inhabitants lives’, in the city of Arapongas, North of Paraná, aiming at investigating the level of emancipation and social inclusion reached, in the
researched agents, after their ingression in the MST and the consequent conquest of the land. One strong influence of the Church in the formation of identities in the majority of the narratives was observed, as well as the existence of contradictions in some levels, that are articulated from the subjectivity of each one that were interviewed to the form where they insert in the social and national context. By virtue
of the those interviewed are militants identified with ideas and proposal of the Movement, the research discloses a strong ideological component in the narrative and, at the same time, conflicts of existential order when the fight for the land gives
place to the fight in the land for the survival, inside the compatible standards with the human dignity. The idea of emancipation assimilated by the agents, that are object of
the research, is presented not only as the conquest of the land, but also as the biggest classification about the aspects of the current conjuncture and the evolution of the citizens’ rights. The inclusion feeling is determined by the fact of they become citizens inserted in a social movement and in a community, where similar ideas and dreams commune. It was also observed, inside of MST, the necessity of being
deeper reflections on the sort question, as well as existences and familiar questions of the militants that get involved excessively in the activities of the Movement.
Keywords: social movements, emancipation and citizenship / Esta pesquisa é um estudo de caso, utilizando como método de pesquisa as histórias orais de vida de moradores do Assentamento Dorcelina Folador, do município de Arapongas, no norte do Paraná, visando a sondar o nível de
emancipação e de inclusão social atingidos, na visão dos agentes pesquisados, após o ingresso no MST e a conseqüente conquista da terra. Foi observada uma
forte influência da Igreja na formação das identidades na maioria das narrativas, bem como a existência de contradições em vários níveis, que se articulam desde as
subjetividades de cada um dos entrevistados, até a forma em que se inserem no contexto social e nacional. Em virtude dos entrevistados serem militantes identificados com idéias e propostas do Movimento, a pesquisa revela um forte
componente ideológico nas narrativas e, ao mesmo tempo, conflitos de ordem existencial quando a luta pela terra dá lugar à luta na terra em busca da sobrevivência, dentro de padrões compatíveis com a dignidade humana. A idéia de
emancipação assimilada pelos agentes alvos da pesquisa, apresenta-se como mais do que a conquista da terra, mas, também, como a apropriação de maior esclarecimento sobre aspectos da conjuntura atual e a evolução na consciência de
direitos de cidadãos. O sentimento de inclusão é determinado pelo fato de se tornarem sujeitos constituídos dentro de um movimento social e de uma comunidade de vida, em que comungam idéias e sonhos semelhantes. Observou-se também a necessidade de serem aprofundadas, dentro do MST, reflexões sobre a questão de gênero, bem como sobre questões existenciais e familiares de militantes que se
envolvem excessivamente nas atividades do Movimento.
