The economic, social and cultural developments are contemporaneous features that natural people and legal entities try to cultivate on a permanent way, thus, creating a positive differential in the competitive capitalist economy worldwide. Controversial and responsible for many discussions, the subject is the source of permanent researches which do not point to a unique formula capable of adapting to all possible situations. It s only known that to achieve such a longing result it is necessary to know and to perfect the existing positive issues, making them, the generating source for the intending success. Recognizing the potentiality is a relevant factor on making decisions, creating thus, innovative thought capable of changing deficient realities into generating sources of progress. Creativity and entrepreneur spirit are, therefore, key words for any kind of innovative initiative capable of creating changes. The Missioneiro regional development presents itself as a real example of this kind of challenge. Known worldwide, as Guaranítico legacy is part of the historical cradle of Rio Grande do Sul, and making use of this potentiality through the regional tourism exploration is not only a venture practice, but probably one of the most viable and cheapest solutions, using something which is culturally the best that the region has, to stop or at least decrease the living reality. That is, therefore, the research source that aims to demonstrate the existing cultural historic wealth, highlighting its importance and the latent capacity as a demarcated niche and that, over the advertisement and recognition, is able to be a potential propellant of the social economic self-supporting development. / O desenvolvimento econômico, social e cultural, são características contemporâneas que pessoas físicas ou jurídicas, buscam cultivar de forma permanente, criando assim, um diferencial positivo, na competitiva economia capitalista mundial. Polêmico e gerador de várias discussões, o assunto é fonte de constantes pesquisas que não apontam uma fórmula única capaz de adaptar-se a todas as situações. Sabe-se apenas que para conseguir esse resultado tão almejado é necessário conhecer e aperfeiçoar os pontos positivos existentes, tornando-os, a fonte geradora do sucesso pretendido. Reconhecer as potencialidades é fator relevante na tomada de decisões, gerando assim espírito empreendedor capaz de transformar realidades estagnadas e deficientes em fontes geradoras de progresso. Criatividade e empreendedorismo são, portanto, palavras chaves para qualquer tipo de iniciativa inovadora capaz de produzir mudanças. O desenvolvimento Regional Missioneiro apresenta-se como um verdadeiro exemplo desse tipo de desafio. Mundialmente conhecido o legado Guaranítico faz parte do berço Histórico do Rio Grande do Sul e fazer uso dessa potencialidade através da exploração turística regional, é não apenas uma prática empreendedora, mas possivelmente uma das soluções mais viável e de menor custo, utilizando algo que, de melhor culturalmente a região já possui, para sanar ou ao menos amenizar a realidade vivida. Esta é, portanto, vertente dessa pesquisa que visa demonstrar a riqueza histórico-cultural existente, salientando sua importância e a capacidade latente como nicho de marcado e que, através da divulgação e reconhecimento, pode figurar como potencial propulsor do desenvolvimento econômico-social auto sustentável.
