Previous issue date: 2013-12-04 / This research aimed to build a panoramic vision of the market of explanations in the context
of students of the last year of public and private high school students from the municipality
of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Using a questionnaire has been possible, to create
a profile of students of the last stage of basic school and also their intentions about higher
education and therefore their interpretations about the importance, or not, of the continuity of
studies and also on ways of preparing to face the new stage, marked by the college entrance
examinations. The instrument provided an overview of the activity of tutoring adopted by
these students. Were asked to answer the questionnaire students from three different schools
in Porto Alegre. The quantitative research was used as the central methodological approach,
but the qualitative research was used too. Three scenery were constructed: first one about the
student profile, the second about the student family and third one about their learning needs.
This one adressed the shadow education, first moment about its operation during elementary
education and after in high school. The last scenery analyzed the issues related with
extracurricular activities and the preparation for the entrance exams to higher education. The
questionnaire developed for this research was based on previous research on the same topic
and elaborated by other researchers which made use of the same tool , but with their
peculiarities about their countries: Paviot (In. Bray, 2009), Costa et al. (2009) and Mariucci
(2012). About the topic shadow education the contribution is centered in the pioneering
author Mark Bray (1999a , 1999b , 2003a , 2003b and 2009 ). The regard to the topic that
analyze different global contexts this work was used: Costa et al. (2007, 2009 and 2012),
Gomes (2010), Mariucci et al. (2012), Nascimento (2007) and Vasconcelos (2005). Bourdieu
(1967, 1997, 1998 and 2011) were used as a reference for the debate on the topic related to
cultural capital and also on the topic related to the new heirs. The analysis of all the material
allowed the inference that the specific space-time shows to be done following the same trend
with respect to global commodification of education. Where the preparation for facing the
entrance examinations in higher education is directly related to the frequency in specific
classes, performed beyond school. Finally, it is expected that this work will contribute to the
advancement of the discussion about the processes of democratization of education. Believed
to be a productive reading this reflection by policymakers, educators, education managers and
everyone interested in reflecting on the current state of Brazilian education. / A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo central construir um panorama do mercado das explica??es no contexto dos alunos finalizantes do Ensino M?dio, da rede p?blica municipal, p?blica estadual e da rede privada do munic?pio de Porto Alegre, pertencente ao Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A partir do uso da ferramenta question?rio, foi poss?vel elaborar, al?m do panorama das aulas particulares, dados sobre o perfil dos alunos concluintes da ?ltima etapa da escola b?sica e as suas inten??es quanto ? continua??o dos estudos a n?vel de Educa??o Superior e, por conseguinte, as suas interpreta??es sobre a import?ncia, ou n?o, da continuidade dos estudos e, tamb?m, sobre as formas de prepara??o para o enfrentamento desta nova etapa, marcada pelos vestibulares. Foram convidados a responder o question?rio alunos de tr?s diferentes escolas do munic?pio de Porto Alegre, escolhidas a partir do crit?rio de maior n?mero de alunos matriculados no 3? ano do Ensino M?dio, por respectiva depend?ncia administrativa. Utilizou-se de forma central uma abordagem de pesquisa quantitativa, complementada por uma abordagem qualitativa, para a possibilidade de constru??o de tr?s panoramas. Primeiro, um dedicado ao aluno; um segundo, sobre a fam?lia e um terceiro panorama, o das aprendizagens. Este ?ltimo abordou as aulas particulares em dois contextos, primeiro no Ensino Fundamental e em segundo no Ensino M?dio. O ?ltimo dos panoramas analisou, tamb?m, quest?es relacionadas com atividades extracurriculares, com a inten??o de continuar os estudos no Ensino Superior e a prepara??o para o exames de admiss?o. O question?rio elaborado para esta investiga??o teve como base pesquisas anteriores sobre o mesmo tema, as quais fizeram uso da mesma ferramenta, mas com as suas peculiaridades: Paviot (In. Bray, 2009), Costa et al.(2009) e Mariucci (2012). Em rela??o ao tema educa??o na sombra a pesquisa tem o seu aporte te?rico no autor pioneiro no assunto Bray (1999a, 1999b, 2003a, 2003b e 2009). Com rela??o ao tema educa??o na sombra, mas com rela??o ?s an?lises de diferentes contextos, temos outros autores de extrema import?ncia para a constru??o deste trabalho: Costa et al. (2007, 2009 e 2012), Gomes(2010), Mariucci et al. (2012), Nascimento (2007) e Vasconcelos (2005). Sobre a quest?o a ser debatida referente ao capital cultural e aos novos herdeiros, algumas reflex?es de Bourdieu (1967, 1997, 1998 e 2011) foram utilizadas. A an?lise de todo o material permitiu a infer?ncia de que o recorte espa?o-temporal feito demonstra estar seguindo a mesma tend?ncia mundial com rela??o a mercantiliza??o da educa??o. Onde a prepara??o para o enfrentamento dos exames de ingresso no Ensino Superior est? diretamente relacionado com a frequ?ncia em aulas espec?ficas, realizadas al?m do espa?o escolar. Por fim, espera-se que este trabalho contribua para o avan?o da discuss?o sobre os processos de democratiza??o da educa??o. Acredita-se ser produtiva a leitura desta reflex?o por formuladores de pol?ticas, educadores, gestores da educa??o e todos interessados em refletir sobre a atual situa??o da educa??o brasileira.
