O município de Estrela sofreu profundas mudanças nos espaços de sociabilidade, em particular nas associações, onde ocorria a prática do Turnen e dos esportes, em decorrência dos acontecimentos da Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939- 1945), como também em razão da instauração do Estado Novo (1937-1945) no Brasil. O fato de o país posicionar-se contrário à Alemanha no conflito mundial repercutiu em regiões brasileiras com expressiva presença de imigrantes alemães e seus descendentes. Este grupo social, a partir da Constituição de 1937, foi sendo forçado ao “abrasileiramento”, abnegando os costumes, a língua materna e as práticas culturais e esportivas especialmente nas associações. Diante deste contexto emergiu o seguinte problema de pesquisa: quais foram as mudanças no Turnen e no esporte nas associações teuto-brasileiras no município de Estrela perante as ações de abrasileiramento, no período do final da década de 1930 até meados da década de 1940. Em busca de uma compreensão sobre o processo de abrasileiramento no associativismo esportivo em Estrela, um município sul-rio-grandense distinguido pela identidade teuto-brasileira, realizou-se a análise de fontes documentais. Nas associações esportivas teuto-brasileiras, a mudança maior ocorreu com a aprovação do Decreto Lei nº 3.199 de 1941, quando foram obrigadas a se licenciarem frente ao controle monopolizador do Estado. Em um cenário de conflito identitário, entre a manutenção do germanismo e a consolidação da identidade nacional brasileira, algumas associações sofreram com depredações, saques, queima de acervos e cassação. Nessa conjuntura emerge uma reconfiguração da identidade etno-cultural dos teuto-brasileiros por meio da incorporação de esportes anglo-saxônicos, enfraquecimento do Turnen, mudança de nome da associação e produção de outras representações culturais. / The city of Estrela suffered profound changes in the spaces of sociability, particularly in the associations, where Turnen and sports were practice, as a result of the events of the World War II (1939-1945), as well as the establishment of the Estado Novo (1937-1945) in Brazil. The fact of the position of the country, contrary to Germany in this world conflict, reflected in regions with significant presence of German immigrants and their descendants. This social group, from the Constitution of 1937, was being forced to the "abrasileiramento", denying the customs, mother language and cultural practices and sports especially in associations. In that context, emerged the following search problem: what were the changes in Turnen and sports in German-Brazilian associations in the city of Estrela before the actions of the “abrasileiramento”, in the period of the late of 1930 until mid-1940. In search of an understanding about the process of the “abrasileiramento” in sport association in Estrela, a southern city distinguished by the German-Brazilian identity, was realized a documentary sources analysis. In the German-Brazilian sports associations, the biggest change occurred with the approval of Decree Law n. 3.199 of 1941, when were required to license in front of a monopolist control of the State. In this scene of identity conflict, between the maintenance of the Germanism and the consolidation of Brazilian national identity, some associations have suffered with vandalism, looting, burning of holdings and impeachment. In this context emerges a reconfiguration of the sportive ethno-cultural identity of German-Brazilians through the incorporation of Anglo-Saxon sports, weakening of Turnen, change of name of the association and the production of other cultural representations.
