Previous issue date: 2009-04-16 / Distance learning has been presented by the Brazilian government, in
the last years, as a viable alternative to achieve the secondary groups with a quality
education. With this objective, were created guidelines established in the National
Education Plan and other regulations, which address this type of modality that also
has been implemented in Boa Vista, Roraima, replacing in some localities, the
teaching presence. This study, in addition to discuss the distance learning in
national level, according to the presented proposals and legislation in vigour, also
sought to highlight its consequences in the boavistense context, exposing, from a
critical view, the positive and negative effects of higher education mediated by
technology information and communication. / O ensino à distância vem sendo apresentado pelo governo brasileiro,
nos últimos anos, como uma alternativa viável para alcançar os grupos
secundarizados com uma educação de qualidade. Com este objetivo, foram
criadas diretrizes estabelecidas no Plano Nacional de Educação e outras
regulamentações, as quais direcionam este tipo de modalidade que também tem
sido implementada em Boa Vista, Roraima, substituindo em algumas localidades, o
ensino presencial. Este estudo, além de discutir a EaD em âmbito nacional,
segundo as propostas apresentadas e legislação vigente, também procurou
ressaltar os seus reflexos no contexto boavistense, expondo, a partir de uma visão
crítica, os pontos positivos e negativos do ensino superior mediado pela tecnologia
da informação e comunicação.
