Hågkomstresor och erfarenhetens betydelse för historieundervisningen : en intervjuundersökning om lärares/utbildningsutvecklares erfarenheter av hågkomstresor till förintelseläger i Polen och Tyskland / Remembrance travel and the meaning of experience in the history education  : an interview study about teacher/education developer experience of remembrance travel to concentration camps in Poland and Germany

The study is examining in which ways arranged educational trips to concentration camps are affecting high school and secondary school students. The aim of this study is to increase the knowledge of how meaningful the visit to concentration camps are for students. The result is based on six interviews with different teachers who arrange these sorts of trips.  The result of the study demonstrates that these kinds of educational trips often make students more motivated to learn more about the subject. The teachers emphasize the importance of them guiding the students in the concentration camps, rather than using guides, since they can adapt the content to be more suitable for a history lesson. As well as it is important for the students to take part in information during the trip, it is shown to be as important for them to take time to reflect on the information afterwards.
