This report describes how the word health affects the spatial planning of the city. Further, the interpretation of health in the industry of spatial planning and -constructing is compared to the interpretation of the Social department, since this department is the leading institution of public health in Sweden. The research consists of five qualitative interviews and the purpose is to find out if and how health is promoted by good spatial planning of the city, mainly focusing on increasing physical activity among the citizens. The result shows that the will in the industry of spatial planning to promote health is good, but indistinct directives from the government complicate its work with increasing the physical activity.
