Introduction: The integrative neuromuscular training (INT), which includes general
and specific physical activities that are intentionally designed to improve health,
physical fitness and motor skills, it seems to be an innovative approach to training
young-children and needs to be further investigated. Objective: To analyze the effect of
INT in neuromuscular performance in young volleyball players. Methods: 32 subjects,
19 males (age: 13.1 ? 0.5 years; weight: 54.3 ? 12,8kg; body mass index: 20.5 ? 4.5 kg
/ m2) and 13 sex female (age: 13.3 ? 0,6anos; mass: 52.6 ? 12,3kg, body mass index:
20.4 ? 3.9 kg / m2), were divided into 2 groups (GINT) - group submitted INT and
control group (CG) and evaluated for somatic maturation according to Mirwald et al.,
(2002), and anaerobic power of the lower limbs, with the heel test the vertical with
countermovement. These procedures took place in 4 different times: before starting
INT (Pre), after 6 and 12 weeks of INT and after an 8-week period (detraining). We
used a repeated measures ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc test as. To verify possible
differences of change in percentage (% D) of Pre values in GC and GINT the Mann-
Whitney U test. the correlation of Spearman was performed to verify the association
between the values of the vertical jump tests and maturational levels found. Results: in
GINT was no differencesignificantly the time for Pre times 12 weeks and detraining.
However, there was no significant difference between groups (F = 1.80; p = 0.19) and
jumping between values (F = 1.99; p = 0.12). the percentage difference was found (%)
between the analyzed moments and significant differences Pre time for 6 weeks time
(c2 = -2.77, p <0.005), 12 weeks (c2 = -4.36, p <0.001) and detraining (c2 = -3.20, p
<0.001). Among the maturational levels and values of vertical jump, in all analyzed times, there was no significant correlation in either group (CG, Pre: p = 0.11 and r =
0.45, detraining: p = 0.54 and r = 0.19; GINT, Pre: p = 0.09 and r = 0.41, detraining: p =
0.05 and r = 0.53). Conclusion: The findings of this study show significant results in
volleyball players adolescents have generated an increase in anaerobic power values
of the lower limbs, but it was not different from the control group. Thus, these data
indicate that the INT can contribute to the neuromuscular performance in young people
(older ages - 12 to 14 years) of sports practitioners.
