Previous issue date: 2013-03-27 / This research is part of a larger project, interinstitutional Observatory Project of Education
(CAPES), whose aim was to map research, production and training of researchers in the
Teaching of Science and Mathematics in the northeast region. The same had the involvement
of three institutions: the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco Federal University of Rio
Grande do Norte and Paraíba State University. Particularly, the aim of this research also
consisted in investigating the pedagogical practices and the objects of study of the masters of
the classes of 2007 and 2008 of the Professional Masters Degree Program in Teaching
Science and Mathematics UEPB. Being a qualitative investigative research, data collection
took the form of document (Sheets FILE), questionnaires, observations and interviews in
three stages, with its locus the schools of mathematics teachers in the Elementary School II
cities Campina Grande and Queimadas, Paraíba. The survey data were analyzed, taking into
account the theoretical and methodological content analysis of Bardin and Franco through
categories and subcategories, as follows Teacher Education Teacher; Analysis of Teaching
Practice: Conceptions of the Teacher; characterization of Practice Pedagogical Teacher, the
Teacher Knowledge and Teacher Harnessing Knowledge for Knowledge Building: the
collaboration of teacher knowledge. By way of final discussion, the research revealed that the
pedagogic practices of mathematics teachers vary both from a technical standpoint as
conceptual; also indicated teachers' identity construction, (re) construction of knowledge
teaching, reworking and reflection of teaching practice. The results of this study showed that
teachers, from the reflections through research, reading of the theoretical issues and the
discussions in the classroom, adopted posture of reflection before the shocks experienced in
their daily school and a new look at the different ways of teaching. It was clear that the
participation of teachers in the Masters Program Professional Master of UEPB, and in
particular the object of study (dissertation), indicate change of attitude in their performances
in the classroom. It was evident that the Professional Master s Program UEPB has contributed
to the training of teachers of basic education. It is expected, therefore, collaborate with further
discussion on the training of teachers, since improving the quality of education flag is
defended today by governments, educators and education experts. / Esta pesquisa fez parte de um projeto maior, interinstitucional, Projeto Observatório da
Educação (CAPES), cujo objetivo foi o de mapear pesquisas, produções e formação de
pesquisadores em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática da região nordeste. O mesmo contou com
o envolvimento de três instituições: Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, Universidade
Federal do Rio Grande do Norte e Universidade Estadual da Paraíba. Particularmente, o
objetivo da pesquisa em questão consistiu também em investigar as práticas pedagógicas e os
objetos de estudo dos mestres das turmas dos anos de 2007 e 2008 do Programa de Mestrado
Profissional em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática da UEPB. Por ser uma pesquisa
investigativa de caráter qualitativo, a coleta dos dados se deu na forma de documento (Fichas
de Matrícula), questionários, observações e entrevistas em três momentos, sendo seu lócus as
próprias escolas dos professores de Matemática do Ensino Fundamental II nas cidades de
Campina Grande e Queimadas, Paraíba. Os dados da pesquisa foram analisados, levando em
consideração os pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin e
Franco por meio de categorias e subcategorias, sendo elas Formação Docente do Professor;
Análise da Prática Pedagógica: as Concepções do Professor; Caracterização da Prática
Pedagógica do Professor; os Saberes Docente e Mobilizando os Saberes Docente para
Construção do Conhecimento: a colaboração dos saberes docente. À guisa da discussão final,
a pesquisa revelou que as práticas pedagógicas dos professores de Matemática variam tanto
do ponto de vista técnico quanto conceitual; também indicaram construção da identidade das
professoras, (re) construção de saberes docente, reelaboração e reflexão da prática docente. Os
resultados desse estudo mostraram que os professores, a partir das reflexões por meio da
pesquisa, da leitura dos teóricos e das questões das discussões em sala de aula, adotaram
postura de reflexão diante dos embates vividos em seu cotidiano escolar e um novo olhar
sobre os diferentes modos de ensinar. Ficou patente que a participação dos professores
Mestres no Programa de Mestrado Profissional da UEPB, e, em particular o objeto de estudo
(dissertação), indicam mudança de postura em suas atuações na sala de aula. Evidenciou-se
que o Programa de Mestrado Profissional da UEPB tem contribuído para a formação do
professor da Educação Básica. Espera-se, assim, colaborar com o aprofundamento da
discussão relativa à formação de professores, uma vez que melhorar a qualidade do ensino é
bandeira defendida hoje por governantes, educadores e especialistas em educação.
