Previous issue date: 2005-02-16 / Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos / This research aimed to investigate the avifauna of the Atlantic Rain Forest of Pernambuco State. It took place in four woodland fragments. Two fragments of semideciduos forest at the Ecological Station of Tapacurá (EET), São Lourenço da Mata county: Camocim forest 150ha and Toró forest 100ha. Other two in humid forest: Ecological Refuge Charles Darwin (RECD) with 60ha, in Igarassu county; Gurjaú State Natural Park (RESG), with circa 1077ha, which belongs to three counties of the rainy belt, southward from Recife, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Jaboatão dos Guararapes and
Moreno. This work is divided into three chapters. The first one is the qualitativequantitative surveys of the avifauna of EET through point count, where the counting of the birds in previously established tracks with five sampling sites distributed in every 200m was made in a 25m radius, lasting 20min. The second is the bionomical and biometrical study of the avifauna pertaining to EET and RECD fragments, where a mist net was used to capture the birds, which were subsequently measured and analyzed for molt, feathers worn and breeding. The third and final chapter consists of the first
evidenced records of Myiarchus tuberculifer for Pernambuco, which was registered during the qualitative-quantitative survey in EET and RESG. The register of this species was made through audio-recording of its vocalizations with Aiwa TP-560 and Sony TCM-5000 mini-audiotapes. The studies carried through in these woodland fragments are highly meaningful for the knowledge and monitoring of the bird populations, as well as to the preservation of the studied areas. / Esta pesquisa teve o objetivo de estudar a avifauna de Mata Atlântica no Estado de Pernambuco. Foi desenvolvida em quatro fragmentos. Dois em mata semidecidual, inseridos na Estação Ecológica do Tapacurá (EET), São Lourenço da Mata: Mata do Camocim 150ha e Mata do Toró 100ha. Outros dois em mata úmida: Refúgio Ecológico Charles Darwin (RECD) com 60ha, localizado no município de Igarassu; Reserva Estadual de Gurjaú (RESG), com cerca de 1.077ha, a qual pertence a três municípios da Zona da Mata Sul, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Jaboatão dos Guararapes e Moreno. Este trabalho está dividido em três capítulos. O primeiro é o estudo qualiquantitativo da avifauna da EET, através do método de contagem por pontos, onde em trilhas pré-estabelecidas com cinco pontos amostrais distribuídos a cada 200m, realizava-se a contagem das aves durante 20 minutos em um raio de 25m. O segundo capítulo é o estudo bionômico e biométrico da avifauna referente aos fragmentos da EET e do RECD, neste utilizou-se redes de neblina para captura das aves, posteriormente as aves eram mensuradas e analisadas quanto à muda, desgaste de plumagem e placa de choco. O terceiro e último capítulo, refere-se ao primeiro registro documentado de Myiarchus tuberculifer para o Estado de Pernambuco, o qual foi catalogado durante os levantamentos quali-quantitativos na EET e na RESG. O registro dessa espécie deu-se através da gravação de sua vocalização, com auxílio de
minicassete aiwa TP-560 e Sony TCM-5000. Os estudos realizados nesses fragmentos são de extrema importância para o conhecimento e monitoramento das populações de
aves, bem como para conservação das áreas abordadas.
