O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar os investidores institucionais das economias centrais e do Brasil, mais precisamente denominados de fundos de pensão, de maneira a se conhecer suas principais características e motivaçães na constituição dos portifólios de investimento. Também faz parte da proposta, além de estabelecer comparações entre os modelos adotados pelos principais representantes das economia centrais e do Brasil, analisar a evolução da composição do portifólio de investimentos dos fundos de pensão, bem como examinar os comportamentos de poupança preventiva e suas possíveis relações, tanto com o produto interno bruto como com o produto nacional bruto das economias em que se encontram inseridos. Especificamente com relação ao Brasil, o estudo visa conhecer as raizes históricas do segmento dos fundos de pensão e seus vínculos com a previdência social, os quais se constituem no substrato existencial das Entidades Fechadas de Previdência Privada (EFPP). Pretende, por extensão, além de examinar as principais características dos fundos de pensão brasileiros, analisar os investimentos preferidos por tais instituições, sua origem e evolução, dando destaque para representantes selecionados dentre aqueles detentores de ativos mais expressivos. Além disso, este trabalho objetiva analisar o aparato regulatório e suas implicações na composição do portifólio de investimentos das EFPP (Entidades Fechadas de Previdência Privada) no Brasil, ações essas que possibilitam melhor conhecimento da lógica e da valorização dos investimentos dos fundos de pensão. / The objective of this work is to study the institutional investors of the central economies and of Brazil, specifically those identified as pension funds, in order to know their main characteristics and motivations in the constitution of their investment portfolios. It is also part of the works proposal, the establishment of comparisons between the models adopted by the main representatives of the central economy and Brazilian funds, as also the analysis of the evolution of their composition of the investments portfolio. In addition, examine the behaviors of preventive saving and their possible relationships, both with the gross domestic product as with the aggregate product of the economies where they are inserted. Specifically concerning to Brazil, the study seeks to know the historical bases of the pension funds and their entails with the social welfare, which are constituted in the existential substratum of the Social Security System. The work intends, for extension, to analyze the investments preferred by such institutions, their origin and evolution. This is done mainly for representatives selected among those owners more expressive. Finalily, this work analyzes the regulation apparatus and its implications in the composition of the investments portfolio of Entities of Private Welfare in Brazil. This study allows a better knowledge of the logic and the valorization of the pension funds investments.
