Allmänna fotbollsstadion är ett arkitektoniskt manifest som undersöker Allmänna Idrottsklubbens roll i samhället som social motor i Stockholms Norrort. Platsen för projektet är dagens Sundbybergs IP, med goda kommunikationsförbindelser som buss, tunnelbana och pendeltåg inom gångavstånd. Allmänna fotbollsstadion bevarar och förstärker kulturella värderingar och ideal genom att betona frågor som är viktiga för AIK samt Sundbyberg. Stadions utformning möjliggör inslag av traditionella material som naturgräs och betong. Allmänna fotbollsstadion är utformad efter platsens förutsättningar och förstärker närområdet genom sin mångsidighet och breda funktion. Utöver att stå som värd för fotbollens spektakel så programmeras trakten med andra sportsliga sektioner inom AIK. Det breda utbudet av sportsliga aktiviteter skapar förutsättningar för folk i alla åldrar att vistas i området alla dagar i veckan. Genom stadion går en gata som löper ned mot Lötsjön och den smidiga nya spång som integrerar Hallonbergen med resterande Sundbyberg. Projektet byggs ideellt av AIKs medlemmar på helger, kvällar och nätter, vilket sätter en folklig prägel på stadion redan innan den står färdig. Allmänna fotbollsstadion blir en publik plats och social magnet som förenar människor kring AIKs ideal. / The public football stadium is an architectural manifest that investigates the role of AIK in relation to society as a social meeting point in Northern Stockholm. The site for the project is currently Sundbybergs IP, with great public transport nearby. The public football stadium conserves and strengthens cultural values and ideals by taking in consideration important issues for both AIK and Sundbyberg. The architectural design enables the use of traditional materials such as grass and concrete. The stadium is specific to the site and its presence, with great diversity of function, invites the local community to engage in its activities. Apart from being the host for big football venues when AIK play, the stadium is programmed to include facilities for other sports in its surrounding. The diversity of sport activities concentrated on a small area will invite people of all ages to feel welcome all days of the week. The walkway through the stadium leads down to Lötsjön, where the new footbridge unites Hallonbergen with Sundbyberg. The project is realized by the members of AIK by voluntary work during evenings, nights and weekends. The public football stadium becomes the social engine that unites people with the ideals of AIK.
