Esta dissertação busca verificar que representações os alunos do Ensino a distância do Colégio Militar de Manaus fazem da Amazônia e, mais especificamente, de sua paisagem. Para que fosse possível descrever essas representações, fez-se necessário: identificar as percepções da paisagem amazônica pelos alunos do CREAD/CMM, apresentar as representações midiáticas da paisagem amazônica e analisar a dialética das imagens construídas acerca da paisagem amazônica a partir da vivência social dos alunos. A apreensão das representações da Amazônia se deu através da aplicação de questionários aos alunos do ensino básico dos polos do CREAD/CMM de Tefé e Tabatinga. A escolha dessas localidades levou em conta o fato de ambas serem das maiores em quantidade de alunos, o que propicia um universo maior e mais diversificado de alunos dos diversos estados brasileiros que foram residir nestes municípios amazônicos. Isso ocorre em função de os alunos serem filhos de militares que vão exercer suas atividades profissionais nessas localidades. A entrevista foi dividida em duas partes, uma sobre a percepção da Amazônia e outra sobre a percepção da paisagem amazônica. Constatou-se que, no universo desses alunos de variados estados brasileiros, a representação da Amazônia mais presente está relacionada à natureza/floresta, as populações tradicionais e a problemática do desenvolvimento. Em relação à paisagem, percebe-se que a natureza prevalece como marca/matriz. / This work aims at analyzing how the students participating in the Distance Learning Program at the Military School of Manaus (CREAD/CMM) build their representations of the Amazon Forest, specially its landscape. In order to describe these representations it was necessary to present the media representations of the Amazon’s landscape and analyze the dialectic of the images based on the student´s life experience. These representations were acquired through questionnaires applied to students participating in the CREAD/CMM program in Tefé and Tabatinga, since these two cities hold the majority of the students enrolled in the program and therefore a higher and more diversified universe of students who come from many different states in Brazil but are now living in these Amazon cities to join their parents who have moved to these place to serve their military duties. The interview was divided into two parts: their perception of the Amazon and their perception of the Amazon's landscape. It was noticed that among the students, from different States in Brazil, the most common impressions are related to nature/forest, to the traditional population, and to developmental problems. In relation to the landscape, it was possible to perceive that nature is the main feature in the student’s representations.
