<p><strong>Aim: </strong>The aim of this study is to examine roma women´s experiences of health professionals’ attitudes towards them in Swedish health care. <strong>Method:</strong> Exploratory qualitative study with individual interviews was used. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight women of Roma origin. Data were analyzed using a qualitative content analysis. <strong>Results:</strong> Many of the Roma women have experienced a good response when they were in contact with the Swedish health care. A good response involves commitment and respect for the individual and the cultural group. However, half of respondents have experienced prejudiced behavior from health professionals. These women associate this behavior by health professionals with their traditional clothes. When health professionals do not possess enough knowledge it is esay to experiance irritation and misunderstanding say several of the women. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Half of the Roma women have experienced a good response from professionals in the Swedish health care. Women dressed in traditional clothes felt that they been treated worse and more discriminated against than women without these clothes.</p>
