This thesis strives to elucidate whether or not there exists a gap between theory and practice within the HR-field in Sweden, by studying what perceived differences might exist between education and praxis. If a gap is found, then the ambition is to try to plot where it is and how it can be overcome. The study itself has been done through interviewing 14 HR-practitioners and finding out about their experience regarding their academic education and what they learned that they feel is relevant in their daily work. The study resulted in that a gap was found and that it can be, at least to a certain extent, overcome by integrating internships and having HR-practitioners come to the institutions of higher learning and share their experiences on how HR is practiced.
